Let's Talk Backgrounds | Diamond Girl March 24, 2016 07:00

Hi everyone, Heather Leopard is here today and I want to talk about backgrounds.  I love creating fun backgrounds for my layouts.  While my photos are always the star, I create backgrounds that are an integral part of the story telling process.  Whether its piecing papers together or using cut files, I consider this a huge part of my style.

My favorite (and easiest) way to create amazing backgrounds is to use cut files so when I saw the new Diamonds Forever background cut file, I was in Heaven!  Take a look at how I used it to create this layout about my daughter.

Tip: Use the triangle cut outs as a template for cutting the pattern paper diamonds.  Simply cut them approximately 1/4" larger around the perimeter  and adhere them to the back of the cardstock.  Alternatively, you can trace one of the triangles, use the offset feature to add the 1/4" border , copy & paste them and cut the pattern papers using your die cut machine.
