A Day at The Public Market March 25, 2016 07:00

Hello there!

Melissa here with you today and I'm sharing a layout that I've grown quite fond with. I just love Nicole's cut files push me creatively. I'm finding I try new techniques and different ways to layer and it's just so much fun. For this page, I cut out a bunch of the Doodle Flowers and layered and layered and layered and layered.

I used papers from the Finders Keepers collection by Amy Tangerine and I think the colors worked so well with, not only the photo but, also the layering I wanted to do with the flowers.

Have you ever been to the public market in Seattle? It is quite possibly one of my favorite places. I love the vibe! The smells and colors are a photographers dream. I'm not a photographer but it seems easy to get a really cool photo. Check out all those yummy veggies??? I love living relatively close to a place like this!

But, let's get to the cut files I used. These flowers are absolutely fantastic and are so perfect for layering! Here are a few close ups. You may also notice I snuck in a piece of another background cut file. I saved it from another project and I'm glad I did. After spraying it with some orange mist, it added the perfect touch to ground the overall design.

You might wonder how in the world to adhere down some of those narrow parts. Well, I didn't. I just focused on getting the larger parts down and then by tucking them under the photo, I know they are going to stay down. Personally, I love that some of the ends stick up. So much fun dimension!

Now, go grab your cut files and have fun creating!
