Wow! What a great weekend that was celebrating iNSD 2106 and Mothers Day! I hope you all had a great weekend and were able to use the 30% off discount to get some great files from Just Nick to celebrate!
I used two Just Nick files to create the above layout along with some great goodies that Fancy Pants sent some of the team!! Be sure to check in later this month for some great inspiration using Nicole's great files and this collection, Attwell, from Fancy Pants!
My background was created using the Bits & Pieces background file. It's tough to tell that the background shape is a "bits and pieces" heart. I tried to get some of the patchwork squares to stand out by outlining them with pen. The idea is there, it's subtle. I might need to go back and stitch around the heart to make the shape pop a tad... I can't decided whether I want it obvious or subtle. I thought I liked it as is until looking at the pictures online... Hmm.... What are your thoughts?
The striped alpha is the other file I used here. I used some of the puffy letter stickers that come with the Fancy Pants collection to begin the title and then the striped alpha to complete it. As the layout is already rather busy with the colors and patterns, I decided not to back the letters as I had originally intended.
Love those puffy stickers, flair and washi from Fancy Pants! The little bits and pieces from Fancy Pants went very well with the bits and pieces that I used to fill in the digital cut file background with. To fill the background, I ungrouped the overall file and then colored the bits to decided which colors I would use where. Once I decided upon a pleasing presentation I then grouped red in one corner, yellow in another and the feathers in the bottom, left corner. I then put 6x6 pieces of paper on my mat and cut the "innard" bits and pieces. It saved a lot of fussy work to back the main file!
