Melissa here with a post kicking off a week of projects using four, or more, cut files. Fun, right?
With the amazing variety of awesome cut files in the shop, it's easy to put together projects using lots of fabulous shapes. For the page I created, I also made a process video that documents my entire process of putting together the page. You can view it right here:
Or, you can continue reading this post if that's not your thing. Here is my finished page:
I absolutely LOVE that bits & pieces star background! The mosaic trend is definitely a fun one with all these different shapes and icons and it's taking over the paper crafting industry too. For my background, though, I wanted to keep it somewhat muted. When I think of beach, I think of calm blues, greens and grays. I used papers from the Attwell collection by Fancy Pants Designs and loved how the woodgrain looked as the backdrop.
My initial thought was to throw in some pops of color but, I stayed true to the calm "beachy" feel, with the exception of a few pops of red.
It was pretty easy to utilize four cut files for this page. Of course, I had to use the waves from the Lake Life cut file set. I chose to ungroup the shape so I could have the inside part of the shape a darker color. It created some cool depth and a little scene below the photo.
Isn't that script font awesome??? I chose the letters I wanted to use and welded them together in my Silhouette software. I might get a little out of control with this cut file font. It's so pretty!
Here is another detail shot of my page...
Now, go grab your own plethora of cut files from the shop! I've shared links to the ones I used on this layout below. And come back tomorrow as another designer shares multiple cut files on her project!
