Summer Cards and Circles July 16, 2015 07:00
Melissa here with a couple of cards that put the focus on circles! There are plenty of fun circular cut files in the shop and I had some fun playing with a couple. They work so great on cards!
Here is the first card I created using the Scribbles1 cut file.
There are four different designs with this cut file. I chose two and resized so they would fit on a card. I shrunk one of them just a tad smaller for layering. Here is a side view of the card so you can see the cut file detail.
By using some pop dots, I created some fun dimension with the two layers of scribble circles. And that sun looks pretty cute on top, don't you think?
For the next card, I had some fun with one of the pie chart shapes from the Funky Piecharts cut file. Again, there are four different ones to use and I chose one of the larger and less wonky ones. I do love how the center is offset. Adds a fun look to the overall design!
To make sure the pattern paper fit right under the pie chart, I simple ungrouped the shapes and left the outer circle. Then, I cut out the pattern paper and wah-lah! Fits like a charm.
I love the rhythm and movement the cut file brings to the card. Sure, I could have just gone with the pattern paper but, how boring would that be!
Circles are such a fun element to bring to your paper crafting projects! Especially cards!
Thanks for swinging by today! And check out the links below so you can get yourself the cut files I used on my cards.
