Taking Some Notes September 07, 2015 07:00

Hi everyone,

Well, it's that time of year again! Back to school! I am a teacher and I absolutely love my job. I feel like the new school year comes at the perfect time - no matter how much I loved a prior class. My classroom is all sparkly clean, all the labels look new and everything is fresh and ready. I thought, since this week is all about back to school projects, I would share something for a teacher or a student - an altered composition book. And, I used the perfect cut files!

Fun, right? And it's super easy to create one of these. This is a standard, hard cover composition book. You can find them at just about every retailer that sells school or office supplies. They usually have a marbled design. I use Mod Podge to adhere the paper on the front and pack. Then, I use a strong adhesive (like my ATG or Glossy Accents) to attach everything else.

For this book, I did the usual patterned paper cover and then, I used one of the background cut files and the marquee alpha to complete the design. It can be a little time consuming putting on the paper, trimming it down to size, etc. but, just look at the final product!

These are such perfect gifts and can be personalized so easily.

I love how the alpha pops on top of the burlap!

Now you have the perfect idea to give to your childs teacher this school year OR maybe surprise your little student with something just for them! And use some fabulous cut files while you're at it.
