Love me some Fall! October 5, 2015 07:00
Did you participate in World Cardmaking Day this past Saturday? I love that we have these "holidays" for our papercrafting hobbies and art. SO fun and I definitely participated. The challenges were inspiring and it kept me going as I made some cards to share with you today. In fact, this whole week the team is sharing cards using the cut files and how they adapt so easily from project to project.
I'm so in the mood for Fall here in the U.S. The weather is definitely shifting and I adore sweater weather! In fact, the two cards I'm sharing with you, today, are using a newly released cut file called Sweater Weather. There are several images within the collection and I chose to play around with the leaves. I used the cut file two different ways on these cards.
Here is the first one:
I chose to back the shape negatives with pattern paper. Such a fun technique to do with backgrounds and I also love doing it with other shapes. I duplicated the leaf shape and mirrored one of them in Silhouette Studio.
I also thought I would show you what the inside flap looked like...
Yeah, that's not so pretty is it? In case you were wondering, I used scotch tape to get the paper down. It's the easiest and fastest. Don't worry, though. I made it look prettier by adhering a piece of pattern paper over the top.
Here is the other card I created using the same leaves and I also used the word 'fall' from the Sweater Weather cut file:
This time, I cut everything out of the pattern paper and layered. How cozy is that card??? For these cards, I would include them with a cute little gift like hot cocoa or tea kit. Maybe a pumpkin pie, etc. Or maybe I'll just cut the flap off, frame and hang up. :)
Are you ready for FALL??? Are you ready to make some cards??? By the end of the week you will be. ;)
