I'll love you today, forever & always November 26, 2015 07:00

Hello Just Nick friends, it's Jaclyn joining you on the blog today.

I'm sure I don't need to remind you that each and every week Nicole is releasing four brand new cut files to the shop!  And each time she does, I have a new favorite that I can't wait to use.  The Today Forever Always file has been on my 'must use' list since the moment I spotted it.  It didn't take long for me to locate a picture of my kids that would pair just perfectly with this file, and make for a fun and eye catching page.

That tile makes a statement, doesn't it?  Since it's rather bold, layering it next to and on top of my photo, ties the two parts together and directs the viewers eye to the main elements on the page.

The open spaces in the letters on this file could certainly be left open for a fun and delicate title effect.  To me, however, those empty spaces were begging to be filled with an array of pretty patterns and colors.  I reached for my stack of 6x6 patterned paper pads and selected a myriad of designs to compliment my photo. This resulted in an eclectic patchwork style title, that still remains very legible due to the outline and block style lettering.

As is typical for me, I couldn't stop at using just one cut file design on my page.  I cut various sizes and styles of leaves from Leaf it to me and Sweater Weather to add some texture and to round out my design.

I chose to cut my leaves from neutral papers.  Doing so, ensures that they don't compete with the main elements of my page, and instead work to compliment and enhance the theme.

We'd love to see what you are doing with each new release!  Link us up on Facebook and/or make sure to tag your designs #justnickstudio when sharing on Instagram.  Happy creating!
