#backtoschool Layout | Jaclyn Rench April 24, 2018 07:00
Hi Just Nick friends! It's Jaclyn joining you on the blog today to give you some more inspiration for using background designs on your next project.
Can you spot the background cut file on this page? It's tucked among the layers on the right side.
I've used the Retro Square Background to add some added dimension and texture to that part of my layout. Placing it here creates more emphasis and focus on the hidden pull out photo and journaling on this part of the page.
You'll find that I often use background cut files in a non traditional sense. I own a Silhouette portrait machine, allowing me to cut designs only 8" in width, but I scrapbook primarily in 12x12" format. While I could certainly piece together two halves of a cut file to achieve one 12x12 background, I instead, often like to size down those same designs to fit the dimensions of my machine and use the end result in a more creative way. Here, I've used a piece of the background to create a fun, layered border.
Be sure to revisit the blog each day this week, for lots more inspiration for incorporating background cut designs on your next page or project!
