Beach Babe | Majken Pullin July 8, 2020 07:00
Hello crafty friends...Majken (@chocoscrapaholic) here today to extend our Summer Fun themed projects with you! This one is especially fun because I decided to scrapbook from a past summer vacation. Take a look.
The Simple Stories Sunshine & Blue Skies collection is so fun, and I cannot get enough of the rainbow ombre background. This time, I used it to back the new Beach Babe cut file (link coming soon!). And then I decided to stitch around each letter to help give the cut file some texture.
Next, I spritzed some Close To My Heart ink (Pacifica and Outdoor Denim) with a bit of water to create drops on my background.
While that dried, I realized I wanted a bottom border to help anchor and balance the title. I found the Wave Border 2 cut file and decided to cut two borders for dimension. I used one border as-is, and then I created a second border by moving the border over and inserting one to weld with it. My second one went off-screen, so I used the knife to trim the edges (you can use the eraser too if you don't have Silhouette Studio Design Edition).
I cut one out in a Faded Jeans Distressed Tim Holtz/Ranger/Coordinations textured cardstock and the other in Close To My Heart Twilight cardstock. I used 3D foam adhesive to pop up the Twilight cardstock.
I tucked my photo behind the top of the title, and then added some chipboard stickers, ephemera, stickers, and enamel dots.
This layout was so much fun to make! Here are the two cut files used.
What cut file will you use for your next summer fun layout?
Thanks for joining us today!
