Melissa here with you today and I'm sharing a faaaabulous background cut file. These kinds of cut files are my favorite to use when creating pages. I think it's because it's a simple way to add some va-va-voom to a page! You like that word? It's the best I could come up with.
For this page, I'm using on of my friends' lovely photos. Ya see that picker in the photo? I think it's pretty awesome.
Now for some design notes... when using a background file, especially this particular one, I find using a calm pattern paper is perfect. I found this ombre and polka dotted one in my stash and then did some layering on top. I think the way the rays flair out, they bring your eye to that awesome photo. Seriously... no shame for those kiddos.
One other note... you may notice on the full page that my background is off-center. The original file is not. I simply used my slice tool, in the Silhouette software, to cut off the two edges and then, moved it to the corner. Super easy and it just shows how versatile these cut files can be. Especially within your digital cutting software!
I love layering! I love the dimension and texture it brings.
Is it bulky? Yep. But, it still fits into a page protector with a little finesse. :)
These background cut files make life so easy when I want to add a giant splash of something special on my pages! I hope you get a chance to grab some of your own background cut files. There are so many awesome ones to choose from - Nicole basically rocks with these and I know you will find the perfect one for whatever your project is!
