Hello JustNick Friends!
Nicole here and today I'm sharing a super cute mixed media layout using two of the new cutfiles, Script Alpha and Quatrefoil Circle.
For my products today, I'm using Vicky Boutin's newest collection Color Study. I wanted to create a mixed media background to go with all of the colorful, mixed media elements in the collection.  I used the Quatrefoil cutfile and modeling paste to create the dimensional background and Vicki's watercolor crayons to add all of the color to it. When adding the modeling paste ad the different layers of color, it is important to make sure each layer is dry before beginning the next.  I also applied all of this on a paper that was prepped with a foundation of clear gesso.
Once all of my layers of mixed media were dry, I machine stitched the circle mixed media paper and the vertical strips of paper to my page.  Not only does stitch add to the texture and handmade appearance of the page, it also helps flatten the warped paper.
I created the word "fun" in my title using the new script alpha file. I welded each of the letters together so once cut, it remained one word. This also helps the letters look more intentional and seamless.
After having everything in place, I made sure that it was all glued to the foundation paper. Traditional tape and foam doesn't like to stick to gesso or mixed media surfaces, so glue works best!
Thanks so much for joining me today!
I hope I've inspired you to create your next mixed media project!
