Happy New Year | Niki Rowland January 28, 2018 07:00

Hey there! Niki here with you today with a Happy New Year layout! I can't quite believe that the first whole month of 2018 is almost over, I'm still celebrating!
I loved the Happy New Year cut file that was new to the store in December. I wanted to cut it from a patterned paper to add to a white background but sometimes when cutting cut files onto patterned paper the definition of the file can be a bit lost, especially if the patterned paper is very busy. I therefore added a teeny weeny Internal Offset to the file in my Silhouette Software and set that to be drawn with a black sketch pen. The outline I set to cut as normal The result is that the file is cut out perfectly but has a black line around the edge to ensure it keeps its definition - awesome and it saves trying to ink the edges with an ink pad, happy days.
Before adhering the Happy New Year to my layout, I added some splodges of water colour paint using the packaging technique, and lots of splatters. I wanted the layout to have a bit of a party feel with an explosion of colour and adding colour to the background made it work.
I raised the cut file up on foam pads and then built my layout around it. I added my photo, lots of embellishments and fussy cut out lots of little speech bubbles from the Glitter Girl collection.
I hope you have enjoyed my very bright party layout! Happy New Year to all xxx
