I thank my lucky stars for you August 11, 2016 07:00 4 Comments
Hi cut file fans - Laureen here with you today to share a new page with you!
I was assigned to use any background from the store and so I made a page using the Star Background 2.
Okay - this page was a pain to create! It took ages, I originally used a modified version of the Quilted Background and already backed that with Crate Paper Poolside and then I was stuck. I didn't like the embellishments to use alongside the paper and then wanted to use some of the Shimelle Starshine collection - didn't match at all but for whatever reason I adhered everything down. I was telling myself - and Elsie also did - that I might like it the day after - not the case! So I tried to take it all off, didn't work, because I had to use the strongest glue I had - duuh! I cut the entire middle cluster out and just decided to leave it and go back to it a different time.
Said done, probably two weeks later I desperatly wanted to finish the page and found the blue star constellation by Dear Lizzy in my stash and knew it was perfect for my Starshine cluster. I then cut the Star Background 2 out of plain white cardstock and originally wanted to back it with the paper which - again - I didn't like.
I then used it as a stencil with embossing paste and really like the texture it gives!
For my title I wanted to use the quote or song or whatever it is saying: I thank my lucky stars for you but didn't find anything like that in the store. I then grabbed the Simple Set Alphabet and Script Alpha 2 and made my own sentiment using a combination of the letters and a few accent stars.
Here are a few detail shots for you:
