Hello, hello crafty friends! Majken here with you on this fun Friday. How fun was the 12 Days of Giveaways? If you didn't get the 12 holiday cut files for free on the day they were offered, you can still purchase them in the store to create your holiday projects.
I'm sure in the Christmas spirit, and today I'm sharing a layout I created with a cut file meant for a card - Holiday Cards 2. Just goes to show that you don't have to use cut files only for what they were envisioned for! Let's take a peek:
I've used the fun Pebbles Merry Little Christmas. After sizing my "card" cut file larger to fit on an 8 1/2" x 11" background, I cut it out with my Cameo. As I was trying to decide what paper to back the circle in, I realized I wanted to use all the papers from the 6" x 6" paper pad...ha! So I cut many strips of several of the papers and decided to create a basketweave of them. I used this fun multi-patterned background behind my cut file open area. It does a great job showcasing the "joy" from the cut file!
I put my two photos in the bottom left of the cut file paper on the 8 1/2" x 11" dark green cardstock. I outlined that with white distressed cardstock and sewed around the edge using gold thread.
I used a bit of red ink and a water pen to give the distressed edges some color and dimension against the 12" x 12" white cardstock base. Then I cut up the background paper with the different rectangles to lay them over gold floss.
I added some stickers and that super-cute hedghog that I fussycut.
Here's the cut file up close:
I hope you get some holiday inspiration from today's layout, and I hope you have a very merry All-The-Holidays spent with those you love.
Enjoy your weekend and Happy Holidays!
