Hi Everyone, so glad to welcome you back to the JustNick blog today! The hustle and bustle of Christmas day 2017 is officially over; however, for memory keepers the fun has just begun. Hopefully you had the chance to grab some photos, and let me just say, the JustNick cut files are an awesome place to get started with putting those memories down onto paper.
I am using one of the cut files from earlier this month called JOYFUL
. This is such a beautiful design.
I really love the contrasing fonts and interesting collage of the word "joy" interspersed with the stars. I picked up on the star design, and the word "joy" fits my photo perfectly.
I created the layout on a piece of American Crafts 12x12 textured white cardstock. I applied some mists using the packaging technique and splatters with some Vibez and Heidi Swapp Gold Colorshine. I used two torn strips of patterned papers from Pinkfresh Studio December Days on the top and bottom of the design.
I cut the JOYFUL
cut file from some Stampin Up! Poppy Parade cardstock. This tone of red matches the red in the patterned paper perfectly. I backed the cut file with vellum, also cut from the cut file, but sized slightly larger in the Silhouette Design Studio. The cut file is backed with foam adhesive. I added a bit of embellishing using die cuts, a wooden button and puffy stickers from December Days. My photo is matted in the Poppy Parade cardstock and some gold foil vellum.
I added some sewing in gold thread to the top and bottom of the layout and to the Christmas balls to make them appear to be hanging from under the torn edge of the patterned paper.
There are so many fun cut files in the shop for using on any project with your cutting machine! I love these files!
Be sure to check out the following cut files that I used on my layout today:
