Mandalla Heart | Patricia February 10, 2021 06:00
Hello JustNick Studio Friends! Today I'll be using one of my favorite shapes in my Traveler's Notebook album...Hearts! And specifically this gorgeous cut file called Mandalla Heart 3. I cut this out exactly as it opened using white cardstock.
With this intricate cut file, I wanted to keep it very light and beautiful. To do that, I dug into my stash of pattern papers and pulled blushes, peaches, and pinks. And I only backed the two outter parts of the file, keeping the rest with just the white.
I had my photo picked out, but I couldn't help but think of a box of chocolates with the photo and especially the cut file. So I used the inside cut heart from the cut file, and punched squares, circles and scallops in the same pattern paper colors to fill my box of chocolates, having my daughter's photo be the largest and best piece! I then added canvas heart stickers and my title with foam alphabets to add a tone on tone look with dimension.
I had to add journaling to this because just looking at the photo, I remembered exactly this Valentine's Day. She had her new Moriah Elizabeth's Pickle Valentine sweatshirt, I braided her hair, and we added the clip flower to the end. I used a tag that coordinated with my colors. I added twine, a foam heart, and wood veneers to this special memory to finish.
Absolutely a gorgeous cut file and so inspiring to work with. Hope you enjoy and happy creating!
