Rad Smile | Majken Pullin October 11, 2019 07:00

Hello, hello JustNick fans!  Majken here with you today, and I'm excited to share a boy layout today.  My son is now almost 11, but on today's layout I'm documenting his first day of second grade.  Let's take a look!

Rad All Boy Wonky Star Background

My first task was to cut the Wonky Star Background at around 11"x11" on white textured cardstock.  In my quest to crush on All The Ombre Paper, today I'm using the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blue ombre paper underneath my background cut file.

You can see I randomly popped up some of the stars using 3D foam squares.  It adds a fun element of texture similar to what I did on a previous layout.  I also sewed along the outside edge of the background cut file paper.  I added small pops of the red accent color in the layout.

For my title, I used "rad" from the All Boy cut file combined with ephemera to create "rad smile".  I cut "rad" once using white textured cardstock and again using the dark blue patterned paper from Cocoa Vanilla Studio, then just pieced it together like a puzzle over the background.

With the fun star background, the layout doesn't need a lot of elements to fight those stars.

I used:

I'm so glad you joined us today on the JustNick Studio blog!  You can grab other background cut files here.  There are so many types to choose one, it will be easy to find just the one you need for your project!

Have a great weekend,

Majken
