Spring Florals | Kelly Barron March 27, 2020 07:00

Hello friends! It's Kelly and today I have a TN spread to share using the gorgeous new Spring Florals cut file.

Daffodils have a special meaning to me and these in particular are so special. They were transplanted from my grandmother's farm and each year when they bloom my thoughts always go back to special times shared with her. I've scrapped these daffodils before and I'm sure that I will do so in the future.

We have been living in unusual times, and my heart has been anxious. Scrapping for me is therapeutic, and I wanted to document a scripture that has been of comfort to me. As I began to work on this spread it became clear to me that less would definitely be more.

I enlarged the cut file to almost the entire height of the spread. Since my photo is so large, the size of the cut file helps to balance this side. A scrap piece of vellum on my desk became the perfect layering piece.

Keeping the colors to a minimum really allowed this cut file to shine. I tilted it so that my journaling would nestle around the file, and then trimmed off the edges of the cut file.

Embellishments were kept to a minimum. I found the phrase sticker and bee from an older Maggie Holmes collection.  The final touches on this spread were the machine stitching on the vellum and the phrase sticker.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today. Be sure and check out the Just Nick store to see all of the beautiful new spring cut files. Take care and happy scrapping!
