"Summer Trip" by Mari Clarke July 17, 2017 07:00
Hey Everyone, it's Mari Clarke here and I am happy to be back on the blog today to share a project using more of the cut files from the JustNick Studio shop!
The Summer cut file from the shop was perfect for creating the title for my project; I backed the cut file by tracing around the outer edge of the letters and then cutting out the patterned paper and adhering it to the back of the cut file. This paper from Crate Paper Oasis is perfect for backing a cut file. The variation in patterns and colors looks great with the Summer cut file title.
There are a variety of great shapes, words and elements in this cut file to inspire your next project.
I used three colors of distress ink (Picked Raspberry, Evergreen Bough and Mustard Seed) and the packaging technique to add some color to my embossed white cardstock from Stampin' Up! The Take me to Paradise cut file offers so many cute options for a project as well. I cut several of the images from gold glitter cardstock for my project. You can see the gold glitter palm frond peaking out from the top corner of the photo and a gold glitter flower on the bottom corner behind the camera.
My photo is printed in 3.5x3.5 in black and white and is matted in black, then two pieces of different patterned paper from Oasis. The white cardsock is backed with a black cardstock frame. I backed the black frame onto a piece of patterned cardstock, also from Oasis. I have embellished my layout with a few bits from that same collection, but the most striking part of the layout is the title and the gold glitter cut files from justNick Studio
I finished the layout with some Heidi Swapp Gold Color shine, some gold thread and some journaling strips printed on my Canon Pixma printer.
