Hi Friends!  And Happy New Year!  As I thought about the new year coming and improvements to make, I am already starting one new routine of weight lifting.  I have put it off, but for me as I get older, I realize how much I need to do it.

I used the new Background 8, and chose fresh colors from a Christmas pattern paper collection.  The colors went with my title of 'Fresh Start Everyday.'  I also used white cardstock on a few places.  Then I trimmed the piece and offset the three to mesh together on my 6x8 layout side.

Then I used another piece for a divider.  All I had to do was add my title and embellishments.  I added my typed journaling to the divider, and a photo onto printed digital paper with a chipboard frame under it to finish.

Hope this inspires you go create your own 2022 layout using the Background 8 as I have and changing the colors, or by using it as one large piece for a 12x12 layout.  Either way works!  Happy New Year!!!

12 Days of Giveaways - Day 10 | HOHOHO2 | Nathalie DeSousa December 10, 2021 07:00 1 Comment

Hello there!

Welcome to Day 10 of Just Nick Studio's 12 Days of Giveaways. We are so close to finishing12 days of free cut files, and today  is my turn to share the day's free cut file, "HOHOHO 2 "

I love the simple, but fun design on the letters! Perfect for  a new page in my December Daily album.

I am all about large titles as focal points, and during December, I tend to print large photos.  So, enlarging the cut file seemed like a great idea to balance the page.

I used an offset function to create an outline around the original cut file, then set the original lines of the cut file to be perforated, while set the cut files to the newly formed offset.

I then used three different metallic embroidery floss colors ( gold, silver and Shimmer white) to create the embroider lines throughout the letters.   I backed the cut out with vellum and set it on the patterned paper (CVS - Joyful Collection).    Just a few extra embellishments and I will add the journaling under the small photo of my Goddaughters.

Remember to check the HOHOHO 2 cut file at the shop today, and added it to your cart.  Cannot wait to see what you create with it!

This offer is only valid until midnight CST on December 8,2021 at midnight CST.

No purchase necessary. The correct cut file must be loaded to the cart in order for discount to auto-apply. No refunds will be given. The design will still be available in the JustNick Store for purchase after the discount code expires.

Have a great Holiday Season!

XO

GRATEFUL 2021 | Nathalie October 13, 2021 07:00

Hi there!

Nathalie with you today to share a bit of inspiration using JustNick Studio's newest cut files.   We just celebrated Thanksgiving here in Canada, and that means that it is time for my gratitude journal ( 30 days ) to begin.  Let me show you how I have started my 6x8 album

I love the new MANDALLA LEAF 1  cut file, and just wanted it for the title page of  my album.   I simply cut it twice from white cardstock, glued the pieces together, and then backed the leaf with shimmer vellum.

I chose a very "Fall-ish" paper for the background ( Vicki Boutin mixed media paper pad), and glued the leaf in the center of the page.   I an using the GRATEFUL cut file to create my title.  I cut it from gold mirror paper and white cardstock.  I glued the gold die cut on the page, then glued the negative white cardstock letters on top of the gold die cut.   Just love how this turned out.

I have already started working on my album, and my day 1 is always about my faith.   So, I decided to go for a hybrid approach for this page.  I am using the BOHO FLORALS 3 cut file  to create the background of my page.   This time, I am using the cut file as a digital stamp.

Using my Silhouette software, I placed the images on the canvas, then added my color choice, and sent it to the printer.  A bit of stamping complete my page!

I love the versatility of JustNick Studio's cut files, and how they can work for all types of paper crafting projects and/or documenting formats. Remember to check them out !
