Paris Street Views | Marcia Dehn-Nix May 1, 2019 07:00
Hello JustNick Studio friends!
Marcia here today. After the fire of Notre Dame cathedral in Paris, I had to look over my photos again from my trip there this past October. I felt inspired to scrap one of my favorite photos of Notre Dame along with other street pics I took as we wandered around. One of my favorite ways to include multiple photos on a layout is by using a filmstrip. In this case I cut the Windowpane Background cut file apart and sized the openings so I could fit a 1.5" x 2" photo in the opening. You can make a collage of small photos and get 6 photos on a 4" x 6" print. Here I have used 5 photos on my layout and it doesn't look busy at all!
I love this Script Font that I used for part of my title "Paris". I combined it with alpha stickers for interest.
I also love the tags in the Around the World cut file, but I've use them a lot in the past when scrapping my vacation layouts. By replacing the text in the tag with a sentiment from the Circle Sentiment cut file, I achieved a whole new look! Here is how I did it. Right click on your image and select Release Compound Path. Drag unwanted shapes/text away. Group what you want together by selecting all parts within a rectangle and then right click again and chose the Make Compound Path option. Do this with both cut files and then combine the tag with the new text, resizing the text as desired. Think about all the ways you could stretch your cut files to do double duty!! This awesome tag made a very nice frame for my photo.
I backed the negative space on my tag pulling other colors in like the yellow and the red. They are a nice contrast to the blue tag.
I think it would be fun to carry my filmstrip theme over into a two page layout. What do you think?

My Mona Lisa Moment | Marcia Dehn-Nix March 4, 2019 07:00
Hello JustNick Studio friends!
Marcia here today. I am sharing a travel scrapbook layout with you that I created with four different JustNick Studios digital cut files. This layout is about my recent trip to Paris where we visited the Louvre Museum. Who knew Mona Lisa could draw such crowds!
I wanted to use a few travel icons too. I found a geotag and globe in the Around the World cut file. The globe was perfect to layer under my photos to help frame them.

This is the life | Monique Liedtke July 26, 2018 07:00
Hi everyone! It's Monique here today sharing a fun summer layout created with a couple of JustNick's cut files.
Last May my family and I spent a few days in Spain and one of the activities we undertook was walk (climb) to the cross on top of the "Sierra Helada" that towers over Benidorm. For me, this was anything but easy, untrained as I am, but I did it! (The kids and my hubby seem to do the climb with much less effort!) Of course my daughter took a "selfie" and so I could do a layout about this! Here's what I made:
For this page I used the "Around The World" cut files:
I cut out the globe in almost 12"x 12" size and used that for my background and built the rest of the page on top of it.
I used Doodlebug Design's "Sweet Summer" collection which I found just perfect for these travel cut files and my holiday photo.
Here a few close-ups of the other cut files I used from the "Around the World" bundle: first the tag with the word "vacation" cut out:
Next the "Right Here" cut file:
And last but not least, the Geo Tags:
I really love this set of cut files! They are so perfect to use for lots more of my travel photos!
Thank you so much for stopping by our blog to take a peek at my layout. If you use these cut files too, don't forget to share on our facebook page! I would love to see what you'll make!
Rainbow Row | Marcia Dehn-Nix July 25, 2017 07:00
Hello JustNick Studio friends!
Marcia here today. I've been working my way through some vacation photos from a trip to South Carolina this past May. If you love gardens and/or food, Charleston is a gem. Their are gorgeous homes with extensive gardens, window box planters, and flowering baskets and Charleston is a culinary hub. Oh my, did we eat some amazing meals there! After one such amazing meal, we needed to do some walking and headed toward Rainbow Row. These houses, each painted a different color, are one of the most photographed in the city.
On this layout, I combined the Outline Alphas and the Script Font to create a dramatic title. I wanted the letters to be tall, like these buildings, so I stretched the cut file. Then I backed the letters with some gorgeous multi-color floral paper from a Maggie Holmes Crate paper line.
I added a travel tag from the Around the World digital cut file and tucked it under the main photo.
Here are a few more detailed shots ...

I hope I have inspired you today to create a big title with lots of impact! Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great week.
Circling the Globe | Tarrah McLean June 17, 2017 07:00
Hi Just Nick fans!
It's Tarrah McLean joining you and today I have a new layout to share with you! Recently my family and I went on an AMAZING holiday to the UK and Europe for 4 weeks! Hence I have loads of travel photos!
I decided to enlarge the globe included in the Around the World cut file set and cut it out from vellum, I then machine stitched it to the background paper, the collection I have used is the We R Memory Keepers collection called Jet Set. I really like how the vellum mutes the busy background paper a little bit.
I also cut the plane and the suitcase from this cut file set to use as embellishments that would tie in with my theme. I reduced the size of the plane a little bit and then cut it from orange cardstock and I cut the suitcase out of some green cardstock I had laying around.
A tag, a few stickers, a flair button and some wood veneer were all added to compliment the theme. I also added some white mist to brighten my layout up a little bit!

It is my pleasure to have Raquel Bowman join us this month as our Guest Designer!
My name is Raquel and I am an Australian primary school teacher, Mummy to two kiddies (Jack 1 & Charlotte 3) and wife to Clint. I admit I am pretty obsessed with scrapbooking and love nothing more than playing with a variety of yummy papers and embellishments and making pretty stuff. I love spending time with my family, sharing coffee with friends, having creative time, a glass of wine at the end of a tough day and all things social media! I have been scrapping for around twelve years now and feel I have finally ‘found’ my style. I’m a lover of layers and clusters and enjoy adding little details while still maintaining white space, balance and a cleanliness to my layouts.
You can find me designing for online publication Jot Magazine, Hip Kit Club and manufacturers Cocoa Vanilla Studio and Pink Paislee.
We asked Raquel to create a page using any of our cut files she liked and this is what she created!
Meet Me in Tahoe and Sketch Pens! May 11, 2016 07:00
Melissa here with you today and I've got a page that utilizes sketch pens and a cut file from Just Nick! I've had my Cameo for over 5 years now and have always wanted to try out the sketch pens but, just never got around to getting some. Now that I have them, it's one of those moments that has me constantly saying, "why didn't I get these sooner???"
Nicole has created several cut files that I think work so perfect for the sketch pens! One of those is the Delicate Florals file. Let me tell you, it was fascinating watching the sketch pens go to work. Because I hadn't used them before, nor had I viewed any tutorials (I like to fly by the seat of my pants and try things out on my own!) I wasn't sure how the pens would interpret the lines and overall design of the cut file.
It created a beautiful outline of the flowers for me to color in. Fun!
Before I go much further, I want to let you know that I created a process video for the page I'm sharing with you today. It's less than 10 minutes and you get to see my entire process of coloring and building the page around the florals. If that's something you like to view, you can check it out here:
If watching a video isn't the way for you, no worries! I'll still show you a few details of my page. Here it is in its full glory:
You can see how I utilized the florals to help balance out the page. I also pulled some florals from the Simple Stories Summer Vibes collection used, to help bring the floral element together.
When I'm creating, I do a lot of pushing around with papers and figuring out how different patterns and colors look when layering. It's a fun, and sometimes exhausting, process. If you choose to watch the video, you'll see that in its full glory.
To color in the florals, I used my Pitt Artist Pens from Faber Castell. I love these pens. They are india ink so, they give a really cool stained look and are easy to blend.
Here are some close up shots of my page:
I used one other cut file - the geotag and right here phrase are from the Around the World cut file group. So cute and fun for those vacation and travel pages.
Do you have sketch pens? Get them out and have some fun! They really do help stretch the use of your cut files!
