Hey everyone, Audrey here with a fun summer project using the Sunburst Background 2 cut file
I love the shape of the sunburst as used that at the top of my page!
Here are some close ups:
Look how pretty the sunburst looks tucked behind a photo:

Totally Adorable- Page Maps Team Up June 6, 2017 07:00
The Just Nick team has teamed up with Page Maps this month! We used some amazing Becky Fleck sketches for June and of course amazing cut files from the store this month.
Here is the sketch that I worked with:
And my take:
I used the Nana's Doily Background and hand cut out one of the "doilies" to place in the corner of my photo like depicted in the sketch.
I wanted there to be a lot of color on my page, and I typically cut files like this out of white cardstock, but isntead I used lots of patterned papers from the "Oh My Heart" collection by Paige Evans for Pink Paislee.
I did add some touches of white along the scalloped border:
I layered lots of die cuts and other patterns under and around the photo:
And then scattered some mists, stickers, and bling around the page:
I always enjoy working with sketches from Page Maps, so be sure to check them out!

This week on the blog we are focusing on using sentiment and phrase cut files. I created this boyish page, so I wanted something to go along with the theme, and I thought the hashtags cut file was a good match. But this file could be used with so many type of page.
I used the Crate Paper Cool Kid collection for this page. On the background, I cut out a large diamond shape from a piece of patterned paper with diamonds on it. I wanted to mimic an argyle pattern, so I machine stitched and hand stitched some larger diamonds to the right.
I fussy cut out some of the smaller diamonds and scattered them on the page.
Just a few layers around my photo and some splatters on the background, too.
I also used the negative space of the diamond to write my journaling and scattered a few more embellies around the page.
Take a browse through the shop and check out all the great phrases and fonts available!
Spring Embroidery Hoop March 29, 2017 06:54
When I first saw the Fancy Floral design in the store, I knew that someday I was going to use it as an embroidery pattern. Well that someday has come!
I first started by printing the Fancy Floral cut file image onto a piece of Sulky Sticky-Fabic Solvy. It is a sticky interfacing that dissolves in water AND is printable.
I printed the image in a light grey right onto the Sulky sheet. Then it just peels right off and sticks to your fabric! I made sure to size it to fit the inside o my 6" hoop.
Then came the hours of embroidering! I am just a beginner at this, but thanks to YouTube, I gained a bit of confidence. I chose to stick with bright, springy colors and I used many different types of stitches for the different flowers.
It was refreshing to do an off the page project with a cut file image! Hope this inspires you to think outside the box, too!
Fall Adventure with Pretty Little Studio October 6, 2016 08:08
Hello everyone! I am so excited about the team up this week with Pretty Little Studio! I have used mostly the "Woodland" collection from the PLS store, with a few things from the "Here and There" collection, too.
Because I was going for a fall-like theme, I used a few different cut files on my page:
I cut out some stems and leaves and layered them behind and on top of my photo:
I used a piece of the colored vellum on top of a woodgrain print paper at the top, and used arrow stickers along the edge to emphasize the shape.
The acorns I inked a little bit with brown ink to make the tops a bit darker.
Lots of layers of leaves and stems with some orange fussy cut flowers for some more color:
On the bottom, I cut out some of the label tags and layered a phrase on top, and left some open for journaling.
Thanks for joining us for our PLS team up! Hope you enjoy all the inspiration this week and check out all the NEW releases coming to PLS and JustNick, too!
"Most Favorite"- Pebbles Background May 20, 2016 07:00
HI everyone! This week on the blog we are focusing on Background files! These are some of my favorite files to use. There are TONS to choose from in the store.
After I chose the photo I wanted to work with, I decided to go with the "Pebbles" background. The photo is of my husband and I playing mini golf, and I thought the pebbles would be symbolic of golf balls!
Here is the finished product:
And a few close ups:
You can watch how I created this page, including how I used the shape in Silhouette Studio here:
Thanks so much!
NSD You Tube Hop- "Explore" with a process video May 7, 2016 08:36
Hello everyone! I'm so excited to share a page with you today AND a process video to go with it!
I used the beautiful "Dreamcatcher 1" cut file from the shop:
I thought it looked like a compass rose, so I used it on a page about a little exploration adventure my kiddos had!
If you'd like to see how this page was created, Including how I used Silhouette Studio, watch the process video below!

Grow some YUM! Cut files and Sketch Pens March 30, 2016 07:00 4 Comments
When I saw the Fancy Floral design in the store, I thought it would look awesome done with Sketch Pens on the Silhouette!
I wanted to experiment a bit to see how the pens would do over layers of paper, and here is the result:
I layered some papers on the background and made sure to measure where they were on the page. In the Silhouette Design Studio, I added my file to the same area on the page and then ran the layout with the papers glued on through my machine with the pens.
I have to say that I am surprised at how well it came out! One thing I noticed, however, is that on the third layer of paper, there are some spots where the pen dragged a bit because the layer was too thick. But it is hard to notice with this particular design.
If you don't have sketch pens yet, you should really try them out!
XO Heart Background and PageMaps March 10, 2016 07:00
Hello everyone! Have you see the wonderful sketches this month on the PageMaps site? It is always one of the first stops I make each month when I am looking for sketches to use! The DT got to work with the sketches AND use awesome cut files from the shop!
I created this page with one of Becky's sketches (which you can see HERE) and the XO Heart Background file from the store. I used the new Urban Luxe collection from Basic Grey.
I followed the sketch pretty closely, using a large swipe of black paint to help balance be design.
I created an interesting embellishment cluster by layering an "X" and an "O" cut out of different papers and a frame to tie it all together. My journaling is a tag that is tucked under this cluster.
This is a unique and different color combo for me! I loved layering these colors and bits from the Urban Luxe Ephemera pack!
Check out the XO Heart Background cut file in the shop HERE:
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out this month's Page Maps!
Hello Happiness! February 25, 2016 07:00 1 Comment
Hello everyone! I wanted to share this SUPER fun new cut file with you today! There are just so many possibilities for the Spacey Circle Background. Cut it big, or cut it small. And this file works great both with the negative cut out AND the positive cut out!
I made one cut of this file from a piece of patterned paper with lots of colors and a busy pattern. I glued the strips to my page and stitched over them.
I wanted to highlight some of the circles, so I added a ton of circular elements to my page like enamel dots, buttons, and flair.
And of course I splattered some mists around here and there, too!
Thanks for reading today's post!!!

Love your Friends! February 4, 2016 07:00
Love is in the air! "Love Moments" don't just happen in February...there are tons of little "love" moments throughout the year that are so important to capture, like this one of my daughter and her close friend reading a book together.
I used the Script Phrases cut file to cut out the "Love This Moment" title. I love the little swirls at the beginning and end of the phrase!
And to frame my photo, I used the "Infinity Heart" file to cut out a white heart frame. Then I added some faux stitching, and some paper and chipboard hearts.
And here are some of the bits that I added to the page:
Hope you are enjoying all the new and wonderful "love" files in the store!

The Wild Life January 18, 2016 07:00 1 Comment
Hello everyone! So excited to be sharing my first official post for the JustNick store!
I'm still scrapping my photos from fall, and wanted to use a couple "natural" looking cuts for my page.

Although these trees are probably intended for Christmas pages, they went perfectly with my "Adirondack" theme! I cut them from pattered paper and inked them a bit to match the greens I wanted. I layered a few tree stickers over the top, too.
Finally, I wanted to have a little bit more space to write my journaling, but didn't want it to take up space on the page, so I cut out this "today" file card from the File Folders cut files and tucked it behind my photos.
I'm really looking forward to sharing my Just Nick projects over the next couple of months! Thanks for stopping by!
Meet Audrey Yeager! January 6, 2016 07:00 1 Comment
We loved Audrey's work as a guest designer for us earlier in 2015, so we are pleased to have her as a new addition to our team !
My name is Audrey Yeager and I am currently a stay at home mom to Charlotte (6) and Kyler (4). I spend my days pretending to be a domestic goddess, when actually I am doing some kind of craft project (or playing Candy Crush) while the dishes are piling up in the sink. I was the recent owner of an online scrapbook store, but decided to close it down so that I could get back into my hobby more!

See you tomorrow to welcome back another member to our team!
Guest Designer Audrey Yeager + a freebie! July 17, 2015 07:00 18 Comments
We welcome Audrey Yeager to the blog today as our Guest Designer for July!
We knew we had to ask Audrey to GDT for us when we saw her great projects at My Scraps and More!
Meet Audrey:
I am a thirty something stay-at-home mom to my kindergartener and pre-schooler. I started scrapbooking around 2005, although I have been “crafty” my entire life, dabbling in different crafts here and there. In 2007 I discovered the online world of scrapbooking, which totally changed the way I scrapbook. Since then, I’ve been on several teams for kit clubs, manufacturers, and challenge blogs. In January of 2014, I took over ownership of an online retail scrapbook store called My Scraps & More. I have an entire store in my basement, and it allows me the best of both worlds to work part time from home in the store and spend time with my kids, too! (Not to mention I get to scrap with ALL THE THINGS!)
I love to scrap about our everyday moments and try to record all those little things that are said and done. I’m also so glad that we live in a place like upstate NY where we experience every season because I love being able to change up my products and inspiration from one season to the next!
I love how scrapbooking can remove me from anything else I may have on my mind, and just take me to a place where all I think about are colors, patterns, and the memories behind this photo. I also love the social part of it, too, in going to crops and retreats, and the online support and camaraderie!
In addition to scrapbooking, I love to quilt and sew, garden, play volleyball, and watch movies and sci-fi TV series!
We asked Audrey to create a few projects using our cut files and look at what she sent us!
I used the Brushstrokes cut file from the store and cut different "strokes" from different colored papers. I layered the stoke cuts in a vertical line behind my photo. I cut the Simple Scalloped Strips file from white cardstock and added small bits to the top and bottom of my photo as a little border.
We also asked Audrey what type of file she would like to use and she asked for a lake inspired cut file! This is what we sent her:
Check out what Audrey did with this file:
I used the waves from the freebie file and cut them in different sizes. I cut them from apiece of paper that had an ombre pattern to it so that the bigger waves were on darker paper, and the smaller waves were on lighter paper. For the title, I cut the words "fishing" and "lake" from white paper and inked it with navy ink to add a bit more contrast.
Thanks for sharing your great projects with us Audrey!
