JustNick Cut File Store

Beautiful Fall | Majken Pullin September 16, 2020 07:00

Hello all you crafty friends!  I'm so glad you could join me on the JustNick Studio blog today.  Majken here with you to share a fall-themed project with you.  The Design Team is focusing on fall projects the 2nd half of September.  We don't get a lot of fall here in South Texas - it usually goes from really hot summer to cold, back and forth until suddenly it's winter.  But I had the chance to travel to New Hampshire for work in October of 2000 at the end of the "leaf turning" season, and it was just gorgeous!  So here's my scrapbook layout where I used three cut files: Autumn Wreath, Simple Stems, and TN Fall.

First I flicked some yellow metallic watercolor on a blank piece of white textured cardstock and set it aside to dry.  Then I cut two of the Autumn Wreath cut files out of white textured cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo.  I used one in its full wreath, and I used the other to cut some leaves from to back with cardstock to use as accents.

I backed a few of the leaves in the wreath with patterned paper (but left several "open" as well for contrast), adhered the wreath to the full piece of 12x12 cardstock with the watercolor droplets, and then sewed a few times around the wreath to create texture.

I bunched the ephemera together at the bottom of the wreath to create a spray.  I put a couple of the Simple Stems, and then I put a gorgeous bow on top!

Next I cut the "Fall" from the TN Fall cut file using patterned paper and combined it with gold Thickers to create my title.

Then I topped the wreath with more leaves and ephemera for dimension.  And I added a few enamel dots and my journaling strips to complete my layout.

Here are the cut files I used on today's project:
