JustNick Cut File Store

LOVE YOU by SOPHIE DELORME November 23, 2021 07:00

Hello Just Nick friends!

It’s Sophie on the blog today with a colorful layout to share !

I used two cut files from the store: Piece of the Pie and Stems 5.

I cut the Piece of the Pie cut file on white cardstock and filled the inner pieces with two black and white photos and patterned papers from the beautiful Bungalow Lane collection from Paige Evans.

I did a chain stitch with different embroidery threads around each pieces, cut the white cardstock to an 11 ½ inches square and backed it with an orange cardstock.

Then, I created three floral clusters in a tone-on-tone manner on the yellow, orange and blue pieces, and added the beautiful Stems 5 cut files to them. I love that they stand out so well, cut in white, on the colorful clusters !

I cut my journaling into strips and placed them in the right lower piece of the pie.

My title comes from a mix of American Crafts and Pinfresh Studio stickers.

I added numerous Pinkfresh Studio Crystal gems as the finishing touch.

How I love how it turned out !

This Piece of the Pie cut file is such a great start on a page ! And the cute stems are the perfect addition to floral and leaves clusters !

I hope that you felt inspired by my page today,

Have a great crafty day !

Sophie xx

'Beautiful' layout by Niki Rowland

Small Joys - Cathy Martin November 20, 2017 07:00

Hi everyone!  It's Cathy here and I'm up on the Just Nick blog today with a layout about being grateful for the small joys in life.  Sometimes when everything is getting overwhelming it's nice to take a step back and think about all the small simple things that can be enjoyed.  Whether it's the crisp smell of the cool air, laying down in a beautiful pile of leaves, or wrapping up in your favorite cozy sweater, these little things that sometimes seem so silly can be a huge help in keeping you grounded.

For my layout I chose the Leaf Circle Background cut file.  I loved how it could be interpreted as a leaf, or a petal, or even a feather.  I cut it out of teal cardstock just for a bit of a change-up from my usual white cardstock.  I backed it with paper starting from the center ring and going outwards. so that it was the same paper on each ring all the way around.  I used a mixture of old and new papers to back the cut file and then it was time to decide what to do for a background paper.  Originally I wanted to use a patterned paper, but after trying to decide for over an hour I gave up.  I ended up finding this dark wood grain and I really liked how it paired well with the dark colors in the photo.  To add a little extra detail I painted tiny white dots in acrylic paint around the outer perimeter of the cut file.

For embellishing I primarily used products from the Turn The Page collection.  It paired well with the colors I was using and many of the phrases were perfect for the mood I was trying to set.  I also used some wood veneers to add an earthiness to the layout and I found some older burlap embellishments from the Craft Market collection from Crate Paper to top it off.  I added some Heidi Swapp color shine in two different pinks to break up the large space between clusters.

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look at my project today!  I think it's important for us as memory keepers to not only document family and events, but to document our lives and our ups and downs as we go through life!

Take A Hike - Cathy Martin October 9, 2017 07:00

Hi everyone!  Right now here in Canada it's our Thanksgiving, so it seemed only fitting to do a Fall inspired layout with one of Nicole's amazing Autumnal cut files!  I decided to go with her file Leaf Cluster, which is one of my favorites!!!  I could seriously use this file over and over again and have a different looking layout each time!  I decided to go with some not so traditional fall colours that matched my photos to back my file.  I didn't need to do much in the way of embellishing because the photo and cut file were definitely centre stage!  I am so happy with how sweet this layout turned out, and thank you all so much for stopping by!
