Hi Friends!  And Happy New Year!  As I thought about the new year coming and improvements to make, I am already starting one new routine of weight lifting.  I have put it off, but for me as I get older, I realize how much I need to do it.

I used the new Background 8, and chose fresh colors from a Christmas pattern paper collection.  The colors went with my title of 'Fresh Start Everyday.'  I also used white cardstock on a few places.  Then I trimmed the piece and offset the three to mesh together on my 6x8 layout side.

Then I used another piece for a divider.  All I had to do was add my title and embellishments.  I added my typed journaling to the divider, and a photo onto printed digital paper with a chipboard frame under it to finish.

Hope this inspires you go create your own 2022 layout using the Background 8 as I have and changing the colors, or by using it as one large piece for a 12x12 layout.  Either way works!  Happy New Year!!!

Coffee Time Layout | Yarelys Rodriguez November 8, 2021 07:00 4 Comments

Hey there JustNick friends! Hope you are having a wonderful day! Yarelys here to share with you a new layout! To make this layout I used one cut file and the October Kits from Hip Kit Club.

The cut file I chose was the Background 8.

I started my layout by cutting the cut file out of gray cardstock. Then, I painted my background. For this I used the Vicki Boutin art crayons.

Once the background dried, I glued the cut file and my photos with adhesive foam to create dimension. Then, I added three clusters of flowers.

For my title I used a piece of chipboard. To finish my layout, I added puffy stickers, chipboard stickers, wood veneer and enamel dots.

I love how this layout turned out! Hope you all like it and get inspired to create beautiful things! Be sure to stop by the JustNick store and check out the new cut files. Thanks for stopping by!

Have a lovely day!

Hello Friends!  I have a 6x8 layout to share using the new Background 8 cut file.  I used the knife in the Silhouette Software, to only cut out 6x8 of the cut file to use as a stencil on my white cardstock background.

I used Altenew Paste through the stencil, then when it was dry, I added watercoloring on top to emphasize the cut file design.  To add more texture to my layout, I backed it with woodgrain pattern paper, added paint dots, stamped my title in various inks and stamps, and added stitching.

My favorite stitching I added were the French Knots.  I used twine so a bit thick, but you could use embroidery floss as well.  For my photo, I layered pattern paper, die cuts, chipboard, and puffy stickers to add texture with the layers, and direction with the leaves.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope this inspires you to try using paste, watercolors (or your water-based ink), and stitching with this Background 8 cut file!
