Hello Spring | Tarrah McLean April 26, 2017 07:00

Hi there Just Nick friends!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you.....all week we are celebrating Spring here on the Just Nick blog by sharing our Spring themed projects using the awesome Just Nick Studio cut files

I pulled out some REALLY old Bella Blvd products for this layout...I love the pastel colours and how much they remind me of Easter as its currently not Spring in Australia...its currently Autumn!

This is the Just Nick Studio cut file I used on this layout....the Hello Spring title.

That gorgeous thin multi-coloured stripe paper was the paper I decided to cut the Hello Spring title out of....I just love how this turned out....better than expected! I added a few embellishments to the title to help decorate the layout a little bit more and add interest..

My niece is an absolute bundle of gorgeous! She is SO photogenic...perfect for this scrapbooker....hopefully she will appreciate me creating these layouts for her one day!

In this photo, she was posing a new outfit that her parents had bought for her, she is only age 1 in this photo but already a pro at posing lol! As the outfit has bumblebees on it, the photo was perfect for this layout!

That bumblebee chipboard sticker had to make its way on this layout since there were bees on Amelia's outfit and its her nickname too!! I really like how this layout turned out....I literally cut the title first and then decided on a photo, added some other small bits of paper and embellishments and the layout was complete! Super quick one this time!

Thanks so much for stopping by the Just Nick blog today! I hope you have been enjoying the Spring inspiration from us? Why not check out the Just Nick Studio store for some cut files that would suit your next project?

Happy creating!

Tarrah x

Hello Love April 18, 2017 07:00

Hi everybody. Nicole here with a fun mixed media layout. Every once in a while, I like to get messy and when I say messy, I really mean it. By the time I completed this layout, my fingers were stained purple and teal. What a pretty combination!

For this layout, I used the Kaleidoscope cut file. This looks so pretty inked up.

I decided to use the digital cut file as a stencil and embellishment for my layout.

I used Clique Kit's April kit to decorate my layout once the mist was dry.

I used a few floral stamps by Altenew complete the layout. The layout looked like it needed more so I pulled out my stamps and started stamping and cutting the images from patterned paper.

Thanks for visiting today. I hope you have a great week!

Hello all. Today I have a fun layout to share with you using the Ink Splats cut file. I created this layout awhile ago and just realized that I never shared it on the blog. I think it's because I added the red transparency sheet behind the layout and just forgot about it! I totally want to share this fun layout though... This layout was super fun to make. I simply cut the splats on white cardstock and used it as a template for my layout. Then I grabbed a brush and some paint and went to town.

Once the paint was dry, I used lots of chipboard, puffy stickers, stickers and stamps to complete my layout. :) What do you think? Isn't it fun. Makes me want to pull out my paint  again.

Thanks for visiting today!

Hi everyone!

Tarrah here with you today! I am super excited to be staying on the Just Nick team for another term! Huge thanks to Nicole for having me on the team once again! I absolutely LOVE cut files and include them on 90% of my layouts!

We were all asked to create a layout about ourselves...I recently changed my profile picture on Facebook to one of my favourite photos of myself (there aren't too many of those I can assure you ;)) so I decided to print it out and use that one for my page.

I'm not normally a flower person if you know me and my style but I had that gorgeous Illustrated Faith 'She Blooms' paper left over from my May Hip Kit and decided the Doily Background cut file would work perfectly with the paper! I cut it out with my Cameo and turned it around until I was happy with how it looked on my layout!

I added lots of different types of embellishments like, chipboard, wood veneer, puffy stickers, flair and enamel dots to help the cut file pop off the page and by using a black and white photo it makes the colour pop too!

Thanks so much for joining me on the Just Nick blog today!

Happy creating!

Seriously... June 01, 2016 07:00

Hello everyone. Hope all is well. I decided to play with the Lazy Daisies cut files again. I love the fact that these cut files can be layered together to add dimensions to any project. Not only did I layer my flowers, but I layered several different types of patterned paper and embellishments on this layout. I love how this turned out.

Patterned paper: Die cuts: Elle's Studio, Thickers: American Crafts, Flair: Clique Kits, Chipboard: Bella Blvd., Enamel Dots: Richard Garay, Simple Stories, Lazy Daisy Cut file: Just Nick Studio.

Here are a few close-ups of my project.

Hello all. I've been playing with Bella Blvd. again. The "Whatever is Lovely" collection has some of my favorite colors and patterns! For one, I love yellow and teal. And another reason I love this collection is because it has butterflies, fun patterns and it's just really pretty. haha I used the "Lazy Daisies" from Just Nick Studio's shop. Love this digital cut file! The cut file comes in a variety of sizes so that you can layer them to achieve the look you want.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: Stickers: Enamel Dots: Bella Blvd., Acrylic Paint: Studio Calico, Digital cut files: Just Nick Studio, Other: Tag.

A few close ups:
I hand cut the butterfly from patterned paper to use as a die cut for my tag.

Also, I used a thin paint brush to highlight some of the words in yellow paint.
