JustNick Cut File Store

Hello JustNick friends! It's Monique with you today. Last week my son and husband were celebrating their respective birthdays and I decided to scrap some of the photos I took straight away. The "Confetti Wishes" collection from Pink Paislee had just arrived on my doorstep and was still lying on my desk so all I had to do was print the photos and choose one of the many awesome cut files from the JustNick store. As I love to use background cut files I concentrated on those and in the end decided on the "Heart is Full Background" cut file.
This is the layout I made:
and this is the "Heart is Full Background" cut file I used. Isn't is awesome?!
When I had my Silhouette ready to start cutting this cut file I was in doubt whether to cut it from white cardstock and fill all the hearts separately with patterned paper or cut it from a multi colored paper. I decided on this last option and added two large squares of patterned paper behind the cut file so the background wouldn't be so terribly white. I really love how this turned out.
Here are a few close-ups:
I love adding a bit of journaling, but often forget about it. For this layout I remembered to leave a bit of room for my text, which I had already typed and printed beforehand.
There are so many lovely die-cuts in this Pink Paislee collection but I didn't want to cover up the entire cut file and made sure not to add too many.
Like always I wanted to add a bit of stitching to my page and used my sewing machine to stitch the outer circle of the cut file.
Although this page has a lot of "pinks" in it for a boys layout I'm very happy with the result.
Wishing you a wonderful and creative week!
Fourteen | Jen McMurtrey June 29, 2018 07:00
Hi JustNick friends!
It's Jen today with my final project as a member of the design team, which is a layout using the Age is Just a Number cut file with Lawn Fawn papers.
I began this project by creating the background paper, which was done by splattering watercolor paints on white cardstock. Once the paints had dried, I trimmed the paper 1/4 inch on each side and backed it with patterned paper.
Next, I created the title by cutting the "fourteen" with white cardstock and then shadowing that with another patterned paper.
The embellishments are a hodge podge of goodies collected over the past couple of years. I tried to keep them to a minimum because I really love the bold title and wanted it (and the photo) to be the focus of the layout. The fringe was added to the bottom by chance after seeing it on the floor of my craft room. LOL!
The acrylic stars and sentiment are from Scrapbook Circle.
Thank you so much for joining me today! It has been a wonderful year with Nicole and the other team members, and I look forward to loads of inspiration from the incoming team.
I hope you are inspired to create today!

Happy Birthday | Jen McMurtrey April 5, 2018 07:00
Hello JustNick friends!
It's all about celebrations on the blog this week, so naturally I had to create a birthday-themed layout!
For this project I used the Banner Essentials and Let's Party cut files with the Pink Paislee Confetti Wishes collection.
I began by using the pink patterned paper and splattering gold, black, and white paint on it.
While the paint was drying, I used the Let's Party file to create the clusters of balloons in various sizes. Each of the balloons was backed with patterned paper from Confetti Wishes. Additionally, I used the numbers from Banner Essentials to cut 1-5, which I welded prior to cutting. I enlarged the number three and cut it out using patterned paper to make it more prominent.
Because there are so many patterns and colors on the layout, I stuck with a black and white photo so it wouldn't clash.
I clustered several die cuts and chipboard embellishments around the photo for added color and dimension.
Last was the gold Thickers title with gold circles and hearts throughout the project.
In the bottom-right corner I added Abby's initials and the date followed by a doodled border around the layout.
The finished layout is bright and cheery and captures the fun we had that day.
Thank you for visiting today and I hope you are inspired to create. Be sure to visit the JustNick store for these and many other wonderful designs!!
A Trio of Birthday Cards | Marcia Dehn-Nix April 4, 2018 07:00
Hello JustNick Studio friends!
Marcia here today. This week our focus is on Birthdays. Did you know JustNick Studios is 3 years old! Since I am always in need of birthday cards, I made a trio of fun, festive birthday cards to share with you. For my first card I used the balloons from Birthday Sentiments and cut several balloons from pattern papers to layer on a card.
I used some foam circles to make some balloons float on my card and added some bows.
I love the look of white on white when using die-cuts. For my next card, I reiterated the word Happy from the Card Sentiments 1 digital cut file down the center of my card in a white cardstock and then added a bright bold colorful Birthday. So fun!
On my last card I went for delicate and pretty... but I still wanted to use bright colors. I cut the Delicate Butterflies out from white cardstock and then used my Distress Oxide inks to color them a rainbow of colors.
Here are the cut files I used today ...
Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a great week.
Happy Happy Happy | Jaclyn Rench April 2, 2018 07:00
Hi Just Nick friends! It's Jaclyn here today to kick off 'Birthday Week' on the Just Nick blog.
Birthdays are something we all have stories and pictures for, and/or well wishes to send to loved ones, each and every year. So, I hope you'll find plenty of inspiration for celebrating and commemorating these special days, on cards or in your memory keeping!
I'm sharing this Happy, Happy, Happy page documenting my son's eleventh birthday.
I used one single design from the Card Sentiments 1 digital cut file to create an eye catching vertical border on my page - and creating it didn't require any fancy work on my silhouette software. I simply pulled the word 'happy' from the cut design and sized it to around 3.25" long and 1" tall. I copied and pasted the design numerous times, resulting in 16 versions of the word, to fill an entire 8.5x11" sheet.
With a busy and colorful patterned paper for my backdrop, I knew white would be a good choice for my cut files.
I positioned the words in an offset, vertical pattern down the left third of the page, overlapping some and tilting others. I used the leftover cut pieces to layer and add height and dimension to two of the completed cuts.
The remainder of the words were accented with machine stitching, washi tape, balloon diecuts and color coordinated sequins.
The resulting page is fun and celebratory but took no time at all to make - which is often my goal, as a scrapbooker!
Be sure to come back to the blog this week, for lots more amazing birthday inspiration from the design team!

Yay | Tarrah McLean April 15, 2017 07:00 1 Comment
Happy Easter Just Nick friends!
It's Tarrah McLean back with you today! I have a new layout to share with you but believe it or not, its not Easter themed! It's a birthday themed layout I am sharing this week as we are all using words/sentiment cut files on our projects!
I decided to add my photos as a photo strip this time...I really like this look whenever I have a few photos I want to include as a series. The skinny photos means you can layer and tuck embellishments and cut files in and around the photos!
and the Make a Wish and Yay words from the Card sentiments 1 set.
These photos were taken at my little guy's 4th birthday a couple of years ago...he absolutely LOVES cake of any kind and that is what he gets most excited about at birthday parties! Even his own!
The Make a Wish collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio was perfect for this layout...the Just Nick cut files match with this collection perfectly!
