Happy Easter Just Nick friends!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you today! I have a new layout to share with you but believe it or not, its not Easter themed! It's a birthday themed layout I am sharing this week as we are all using words/sentiment cut files on our projects!

I combined two different cut file sets from the Just Nick store for this layout...I used the candles and the balloons included in the Birthday sentiments set below.....

I decided to add my photos as a photo strip this time...I really like this look whenever I have a few photos I want to include as a series. The skinny photos means you can layer and tuck embellishments and cut files in and around the photos!

and the Make a Wish and Yay words from the Card sentiments 1 set.

These photos were taken at my little guy's 4th birthday a couple of years ago...he absolutely LOVES cake of any kind and that is what he gets most excited about at birthday parties! Even his own!

The Make a Wish collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio was perfect for this layout...the Just Nick cut files match with this collection perfectly!

Thank you so much for stopping by the Just Nick Studio blog today! Check out the cut files available in the Just Nick store now!

Happy creating!

Tarrah x

Let's Celebrate and XOXO Cards November 18, 2016 07:00

Hi everyone,

Michelle here with two cards to share with you for card week!  I must admit I have only just really started making cards and don't make too many of them.  I am trying to make time to make more as they are so handy to have.

My first card I created was a birthday card.  I combined two cut files - I created my own doily from the Doilies cut file set as I love using doilies on my cards and layouts.  This file is great as it gives you four different options to choose from which makes it great value for money.    I then cut out the 'celebrate' from the Birthday Sentiments cut file set and added this to my card as well.

For my second card I have created a more generic card for a non-specific occasion which is great to have on hand for when you need a card.  I used the Stack Em Up Background file first cut on white cardstock with some patterned paper layered underneath it.   I also cut out a Dahlia Flower and when I added it to my card and layered on some embellishments it started to look a bit dream catcher like so I added some feather embellishments dangling at the bottom. I added the XOXO sentiment which really makes it a versatile card for lots of different occasions from birthdays to general thank you cards.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today - I hope you have enjoyed seeing all our cards this week.

Happy 12! March 02, 2016 07:00

Hi everyone.  It's Heather and I don't know about you but I love designing with sketches, especially PageMaps sketches.  I use them as a general guide to my design as evidenced below.

The sketch called for one large portrait photo, as shown above plus 2 smaller portrait photos above, where you see the tags. The rest of the design follows the sketch fairly close.

I used the Birthday Sentiments cut file and the heart from the exclusive files Nicole created for the Clique Kits team up in February.  You can use the Broken Heart cut file to achieve the same effect.

I added layers of papers, ephemera, stickers, banners, etc to give the page a celebratory effect.

Thanks for stopping by today. Come back tomorrow for more great PageMaps inspiration.

Cards to Celebrate October 09, 2015 07:00

Hello JustNick friends! Marcia here today.

I have a couple cards to share with you for celebrations. The first one I created with the Lemon Slice digital cut file.

I was eyeballing this cut file when I created my last layout using the Pink Paislee Citrus Bliss collection. I kept thinking, "You Put the Lime in the Coconut"... and so the lemon slice became a lime slice. Yes, I know its Fall, but the weather here is still surprisingly warm. I'll take those warm days without complaining because all too soon the snow will be flying here. Here is my card...

I cut the lime twice, once with pattern paper and once with watercolor paper that I then painted a lime green. This way I could swap out parts and make 2 limes.

For my second card I used the new Birthday Sentiments and the Simple Scallop Strips digital cut files.

Birthday cards are by far the cards I make most often. Here is my card...

I decided to create a cake for those candles to sit on and decorate it with the scallop strips. I used the Celebrate sentiment from the same cut file.

Thanks for stopping by.
