JustNick Cut File Store

Definitely Wonderful | Majken Pullin November 05, 2018 07:00

Hello cut file friends!  It's Majken here with you again today, and I have a fun and colorful layout to share with you.

I wasn't sure at first what I wanted to do with the Criss Cross Background cut file, but I cut it out using my Cameo.  Then I started putting different patterned papers behind it.  When I saw the triangle paper, I thought "oh, this won't work", but I was pleasantly surprised and love how it looked behind the cut file!

Never say never! To frame my photo, I used the Boho Florals cut file.

Once I included my framed photo, I felt it still needed some special touches.  So I used a few of the criss cross cuts insides, and adhered them inside some random spots with a touch of adhesive, and then I stitched cross stitches in the center of them.  Some small bits of ephemera and stickers helped pull the criss cross shapes together.

I even put some plus sign stitches on the blue patterned paper on my photo frame and bottom border for additional whimsy.

I hope you find some cut files in the JustNick Studio store where you can use both the cut file and the negative.

THIS MOMENT MAKES MY HEART FULL | NATHALIE DESOUSA September 14, 2018 07:00

Hi there!

Nathalie here with the last  "Words & Phrases" blog post.  For the past two weeks we have been creating projects using some of the JustNick Studio cut files that feature words and phrases.  There are so many designs to chose from, and since i love a large (i mean fill the page with it kinda title!) title, this project was a dream to create.

Have i mentioned i love large title layouts?!!  There is something about telling a story in a few words with a large title.  So for this page, i welded the "This Moment" and  " My Heart is Full" cut files to create the large title in my page.

I cut my title from white cardstock, and trimmed the "is" word from the cut out using a sharp pair of scissors.   Each letter was backed with papers from the new Maggie Holmes collection, "Willow Lane".

Once, the cut file was set on the layout - the background papers are also part of the WIllow Lane collection- using some foam adhesive.  A few flowers from were scattered below the cut file as to create small clusters/embellishmnets to the cut out.  These were cut also from white cardstock using the Boho Florals cut file.   Love the softness this adds to the page.

Since, I wanted to keep the title and picture as the focal point of this page, my choice was to hide the journal lines in the litte tag that is tucked behind the frame.

Love how this turned out.  The use of white cardstock to form the cut out brings out all the details of the beautiful JustNick Studio cut files, and makes it pop from the colored background.

Remember to stop by the JustNick Studio store to check all the cut files used in this page.  If you have any questions on how this was put together, please do not hesitate to contact me!

XO

Cherish | Marcia Dehn-Nix February 28, 2018 07:00

Hello JustNick Studio friends!

Marcia here today and I think I must have Spring Fever. I feel like it's been forever since I scrapped a really girly layout. Sometimes I just want to scrap pink flowers and yellow butterflies and imagine that Spring is just around the corner, especially when it's snowing outside (again!). I found the pretty Boho Florals 3 and the Stems 5 and created a gorgeous cluster to ground my photo.

To add color behind my white cut files, I watered down some acrylic paint and painted a line of yellow, orange, and pink across my page and then tapped my paper to make the paint run. Then I added a few paint splatters and some stamped butterflies and I had a beautiful background!

To make my flowers and stems more interesting I added sequins to the center of the pink flowers and drew some lines on the leaves with a marker.

The paint and the grey leaf stems help make the white floral cut file pop instead of blending into the background.

Here are the digital cut files I used today ...

Here is my process video if you are interested ...

I hope the rest of your week is fabulous! Take care.

Travelers Notebook | Jaclyn Rench February 13, 2018 07:00

Hi Just Nick friends, it's Jaclyn joining you on the blog today.  Have you jumped on board the Traveler's Notebook trend?  I have and I'm officially smitten!  Something about a smaller canvas and a new set of background dimensions really has me inspired.  Add in the fact that I can use up plenty of my paper scraps, stamps, bits of washi and most importantly size down my favorite cut files - what's not to love?!

If you've followed my posts on the Just Nick blog over the years, you'll know that it's no secret that the floral cut files get a lot of use on my pages and projects.  The Boho Floral design is one that I have reached for over and over, so I was surprised to find that I had not yet used the second version, Boho Florals 2.  When cut from a metallic, matte, rose gold cardstock it was the perfect accessory to accompany this photo of my new favorite glass of rose.

I cut two version of the design (there are actually three included with the purchased file) and backed the small flowers with a solid yellow paper to add just another small pop of color to my spread.  I tucked the cut designs below and to the right of my photo, framing out the left lower edge and giving it more presence and texture.

The frills and stems really add softness and femininity to this otherwise clean and graphic layout.

We would love to see how you are including Just Nick designs in your Travelers Notebooks.  Tag us on Instagram with hashtag #justnickstudio.  I know for certain that I'll be back soon to share how I'm incorporating these digital designs onto my spreads!

Sweet Layout by Rachel Lowe: January 17, 2018 07:00

Hello everyone today I have a sweet layout for you!

I have used two cut files from the JustNick Store which are just a bit gorgeous!!!!

I decided to make a 8.5x11 inch layout and cut the XOXO to fit the dimensions. I love white on white and if your cut file is thicker it will stand out beautifully.

I then cut a Boho Floral (3) and again sized it to fit proportional with my layout. I cut one in white and one in patterned paper, I love to add layers to blooms and this is a great way to do that. I only used several dots of glue between the white and patterned paper cut so I didn't lose the layering effect.  I paper backed the larger bloom. To finish off adding centres to the smaller flowers. I attached to my page with foam tape to create a 3D effect.

I added some machine sewing to three edges of my white background paper to add definition.

Lastly I added some very cute embellishments from my chosen collection Main Squeeze by Crate Paper.

Here are some close up photos for you:

Thank you for stopping today and I hope this layout has inspired you to create your own 'sweet' layout using these wonderful cut files.

Trio of Cards | Jaclyn Rench June 27, 2017 07:00

Hello Just Nick friends!  It's Jaclyn joining you on the blog today.  I'm sharing a trio of cards I've made featuring some of my favorite new designs in the cut shop!

The first card features the Bring on Summer cut file, most specifically that yummy little ice cream cone that's included.  A single dip simply wouldn't allow for much color for the focal point of my card, so I duplicated the 'ice cream scoop' portion of the design to create a whopping four dip cone - cutting each dip from a different color of paper!

I used a few sweet embellishments to really make my ice cream cone special.  To finish off the card, I paired the cute cone with a thank you sentiment, but this design would also work well with a sweet birthday greeting.

My next card uses three of the cactus designs from the Cactus Jack file. These quirky cacti look so cute when sized down to fit a card front and cut from subtle patterned papers.  I offset the solid portion of my cut design to enhance the funky feel of these little guys and dressed them up with a few diecut flowers.  I didn't have a stamped sentiment that I liked for this card, so I simply printed my own on a tiny little jewelry tag - I love the playful feel it adds!

My final card uses the beautiful Boho Floral file.  These pretty flowers are a gorgeous compliment to a encouragement and/or sympathy greeting.  I used three different shades of pink patterned papers to back the flower portion of the design, and a pretty minty green for the leaves.  I sized and cut a label from Labels One to house my stamped sentiment and adhered it with foam adhesive to make stand out against the florals.

I had so much fun making this cute trio. Thanks for joining me and Happy Crafting!

Most favorite person | Laureen Wagener June 26, 2017 07:00

Hi there cut file friends!

It's Laureen back with you to share a new project I made!
Now, I have lately come around some changes in the way I scrapbook and see things regarding scrapbooking and have found myself absolutely enjoying to scrap in a different format from time to time.

Doesn't matter if it's 6x8 for telling my stories or 8,5x11 or 9x12.
I am just really liking the change - because scrapping in 12x12 became kind of boring and I had a feeling that all my recent layouts looked similar.

Don't get me wrong I still scrap 12x12 but will throw in some other formats for the fun of it from time to time ;)

Now what I love about cut files is the great variety - the ones from Nicole always come with a PNG version, so you can also print them. I love how Nicole Martle always does that and decided to try it out for todays project.

I used the file "My most favorite" and filled it with a pattern in Silhouette and simply send it to my printer :)

I also used the gorgeous florals from "Boho florals" and kept embellishing to a minimum, because I used a gorgoeus specility paper from the Take me Away collection as my main focus.

I hope you have a great day!

Laureen

Just Be You June 14, 2017 11:03

Hello, everyone!
Donna here with my first layout for June.
I used this gorgeous cut file, Boho florals, in my layout.
First, I brushed and splattered some watercolors. After it has dried, I started placing the photos and fussy cut florals diagonally. Then I started placing the rest of the embellishments following the flow of the initial design.
I kept the floral cut files plain white to make it stand out. Then, I backed the floral cut files with patterned paper and used a couple of thin cardboard scraps to add a bit of height.
I also kept the original dimension of the cut files, but I can see these bigger and perfect for a beautiful background! I may have to use these again on a future project.
The June kit "Aquarelle" by Clique Kits is perfect for these cut files. I like that it has both chunky and intricate details.
That's all from me today!
Don't forget to check out the store for more amazing cut files!
