Travelers Notebook | Jaclyn Rench February 13, 2018 07:00
Hi Just Nick friends, it's Jaclyn joining you on the blog today. Have you jumped on board the Traveler's Notebook trend? I have and I'm officially smitten! Something about a smaller canvas and a new set of background dimensions really has me inspired. Add in the fact that I can use up plenty of my paper scraps, stamps, bits of washi and most importantly size down my favorite cut files - what's not to love?!
If you've followed my posts on the Just Nick blog over the years, you'll know that it's no secret that the floral cut files get a lot of use on my pages and projects. The Boho Floral design is one that I have reached for over and over, so I was surprised to find that I had not yet used the second version, Boho Florals 2. When cut from a metallic, matte, rose gold cardstock it was the perfect accessory to accompany this photo of my new favorite glass of rose.
I cut two version of the design (there are actually three included with the purchased file) and backed the small flowers with a solid yellow paper to add just another small pop of color to my spread. I tucked the cut designs below and to the right of my photo, framing out the left lower edge and giving it more presence and texture.
The frills and stems really add softness and femininity to this otherwise clean and graphic layout.
We would love to see how you are including Just Nick designs in your Travelers Notebooks. Tag us on Instagram with hashtag #justnickstudio. I know for certain that I'll be back soon to share how I'm incorporating these digital designs onto my spreads!

Sweet Layout by Rachel Lowe: January 17, 2018 07:00
Hello everyone today I have a sweet layout for you!
I have used two cut files from the JustNick Store which are just a bit gorgeous!!!!
I decided to make a 8.5x11 inch layout and cut the XOXO to fit the dimensions. I love white on white and if your cut file is thicker it will stand out beautifully.
I then cut a Boho Floral (3) and again sized it to fit proportional with my layout. I cut one in white and one in patterned paper, I love to add layers to blooms and this is a great way to do that. I only used several dots of glue between the white and patterned paper cut so I didn't lose the layering effect. I paper backed the larger bloom. To finish off adding centres to the smaller flowers. I attached to my page with foam tape to create a 3D effect.
I added some machine sewing to three edges of my white background paper to add definition.
Lastly I added some very cute embellishments from my chosen collection Main Squeeze by Crate Paper.
Here are some close up photos for you:
Thank you for stopping today and I hope this layout has inspired you to create your own 'sweet' layout using these wonderful cut files.
Trio of Cards | Jaclyn Rench June 27, 2017 07:00
Hello Just Nick friends! It's Jaclyn joining you on the blog today. I'm sharing a trio of cards I've made featuring some of my favorite new designs in the cut shop!
The first card features the Bring on Summer cut file, most specifically that yummy little ice cream cone that's included. A single dip simply wouldn't allow for much color for the focal point of my card, so I duplicated the 'ice cream scoop' portion of the design to create a whopping four dip cone - cutting each dip from a different color of paper!
I used a few sweet embellishments to really make my ice cream cone special. To finish off the card, I paired the cute cone with a thank you sentiment, but this design would also work well with a sweet birthday greeting.
My next card uses three of the cactus designs from the Cactus Jack file. These quirky cacti look so cute when sized down to fit a card front and cut from subtle patterned papers. I offset the solid portion of my cut design to enhance the funky feel of these little guys and dressed them up with a few diecut flowers. I didn't have a stamped sentiment that I liked for this card, so I simply printed my own on a tiny little jewelry tag - I love the playful feel it adds!
My final card uses the beautiful Boho Floral file. These pretty flowers are a gorgeous compliment to a encouragement and/or sympathy greeting. I used three different shades of pink patterned papers to back the flower portion of the design, and a pretty minty green for the leaves. I sized and cut a label from Labels One to house my stamped sentiment and adhered it with foam adhesive to make stand out against the florals.
I had so much fun making this cute trio. Thanks for joining me and Happy Crafting!

Hi there cut file friends!
It's Laureen back with you to share a new project I made!
Now, I have lately come around some changes in the way I scrapbook and see things regarding scrapbooking and have found myself absolutely enjoying to scrap in a different format from time to time.
Doesn't matter if it's 6x8 for telling my stories or 8,5x11 or 9x12.
I am just really liking the change - because scrapping in 12x12 became kind of boring and I had a feeling that all my recent layouts looked similar.
Don't get me wrong I still scrap 12x12 but will throw in some other formats for the fun of it from time to time ;)
Now what I love about cut files is the great variety - the ones from Nicole always come with a PNG version, so you can also print them. I love how Nicole Martle always does that and decided to try it out for todays project.
I used the file "My most favorite" and filled it with a pattern in Silhouette and simply send it to my printer :)
I also used the gorgeous florals from "Boho florals" and kept embellishing to a minimum, because I used a gorgoeus specility paper from the Take me Away collection as my main focus.
I hope you have a great day!
