JustNick Cut File Store

Hello Sweet Thing | Nicole Kerr November 9, 2021 06:35

Hello JustNick friends!
Nicole here and today I'm very excited to share my latest creation with all of you! I've been in full fall vibes and this layout is hands down one of my favs! Today I'm using the Leaf Border cutfile to create a fall layout with a very soft vibe.
I just love this layout so much!  The cutfile was my main inspiration for this layout. I love the vertical take on a cutfile and chose to center as much of my mixed media and embellishments as much as I could.  I began by gessoing my white cardstock and applied three different colors of ink to create the background. I used a combination of "smushing" the ink on plastic and also splattering a second layer. I then stamped in the same ink colors a few feathers.
I then fussy cut leaves from Paige Evans fall collection to poke into some of the areas. I even included some of her epoxy stickers as well. Some of those pieces I glued directly to the page while others I popped up onto foam adhesive for more dimension and texture.
I added my photo and layered it onto a tag, adding embroidery floss to the top in a coordinating color.  I also distressed the edges of my photo layer to keep the texture consistent. I pulled from my stash the white acrylic "hello" and paired it with another epoxy sticker from the same collection to create my title "hello sweet thing."
I added a small amount of jounaling under the title talking about the love my son and I have for spending a week during the fall at the beach.
Last, but certainly not least, I felt the the left and right side of my page needed something. It was very white. So to keep with the vertical theme, I trimmed off a small amount of white cardstock and backed it with the beautiful pink and deep yellow patterned paper. I kept the left side margin smaller because that's where the weight of the page was mostly at already.  Keep in the right margin larger helps visually balance the overall layout.
Thanks so much for joining me today!
I hope you had fun and got inspired!
