JustNick Cut File Store

Fly | Vicki Parker May 1, 2020 07:00

Hi everyone, it's Vicki here today with my latest layout which I hope you will find inspiring in some way!

I used an older cut file called Up in the Air, which you can find in store here

I started by cutting just the top left balloon three times - one big and the other two smaller. I used one of the Paige Evans Bloom Street papers to back all three balloons and then added a little bit of subtle watercolour to each to add a slightly more 'grungy' feel. I also put a very light blue wash over the background cardstock so that it gave the impression of sky.

I also painted the baskets of the balloons in coordinating colours rather than leave them white.

I layered up my photo with some pocket life cards and then used some Bloom Street florals to embellish, together with a PinkFresh layered sticker and some Bramble Fox clouds.

Finally, I added by title using the Vicki Boutin Let's Wander Thickers which I adore and will be sad to run out of! And that's it! I do hope you like it - thank you so much for looking. See you next time!

Love Spring | Vicki Parker March 31, 2020 07:00

Hi lovely friends, today I am sharing a colourful spring layout with you.

I used the fabulous Chasing Rainbows cut file available in store here:

I started by using the inverse of the cut file so that I had just the inside rainbow pieces. With watercolours, I painted them in rainbow colours - one colour for each colour in the rainbow. I then backed all of the arcs with foam and stuck them to the layout slightly off the page and cut off the excess.

I then used the same watercolours to add some paint around the arcs to add that extra watercolour effect - I also painted some at the bottom of each side to look like drips.

It gave a nice 'messy' watercolour effect that I was really happy with. I then built the layout using lots of the Paige Evans Bloom Street collection from Pink Paislee and some fabulous acrylic umbrellas from Bramble Fox.

I hope this inspires you to do a rainbow layout for yourself and I'll see you next month! Thanks so much for looking x

Remember | Vicki Parker November 28, 2019 07:00

Hi everyone, it's Vicki here today sharing my latest layout using one of the brand new November cut files.

I loved the Remember cut file straight away - you can find it in the store here.

I started by backing each letter with a paper from Pretty Little Studio that has a gradient starting with pale pink and ending with an orangey tone - it worked really well and I used the reverse of the paper to add a strip down one side of the cut file. This added some contrast on the 'Flamingo' cardstock.

I added some fussy cut leaves, some floral die cuts and a chipboard pumpkin along with a cute rainbow to embellish.

I finished with some splatters of gold after adding my photo backed with some vellum.

I hope my layout gives you some inspiration for using this fabulous cut file which I think would also be great to scrap veterans. Until next time...

Together | Vicki Parker October 3, 2019 07:00

Hi everyone, it's Vicki with you again and today I have a layout using the Big Wheel cut file.

It looks like this and can be found in the store here.

I started by using some Cocoa Vanilla Unforgettable collection and backing the circles with spokes with different papers. For the open circles, I decided to paint the cut out with some Shimmerz and add them back into the open circles. I used the same paint to add some colour underneath the large wheels on the cut file.

I popped the cut file up on foam to add some extra dimension before adding a few embellishments around the photo and the circles. I layered the photo with some paper and vellum and finally added an acrylic title from Bramble Fox.

I am so happy with the final layout, I hope you find inspiration from it. Until next time....

No Rain, No Rainbows | Vicki Parker August 28, 2019 07:00

Hi everyone, it's Vicki here today with my latest layout using the No Rain No Rainbows cut file - I had the perfect photo of my niece with her pink, glittery wellies!

I started by using distress oxides and creating a rainbow across the page and then once dry, I put it through my silhouette to cut the cut file which you can find in store here.

I then covered the background in clear gesso before using some Shimmerz sprays in three shades of blue on the background to represent sky.

To finish the layout off, I embellished with some Vicki Boutin Color Kaleidoscope stickers and two cute Perspextives from Bramble Fox.

It's pretty simple, but I hope it gives you some inspiration on using the cut file - it's such a fantastic one and just begs to be rainbow coloured! Here's one more close up... until next time!

Globe Trotter | Vicki Parker August 13, 2019 07:00

Hi everyone, it's Vicki here today sharing my latest layout with a travel theme.

I had some of the Carta Bella Let's Travel collection and knew it would be perfect for my layout using the fabulous Around the World cut files. I only used two of the tags, the globe and the geo tag, but there is lots of choice here.

I started by enlarging the globe to the full size of a piece of white cardstock and once cut, I chain stitched around the entire shape with blue thread. Now, this did take quite a bit of time, but I really think it was worth it!

I stuck it on an angle onto a piece of PinkFresh Just a Little Lovely paper which has a stunning watercolour effect and really makes the globe pop! With the tags I cut also on PinkFresh paper, I backed the words with white cardstock and outlined them in black fineliner pen.

I also outlined the heart on the geo tag and used the cut out heart on the One Canoe Two Saturday Afternoon camera.

The rest of the layout was put together with chipboard elements from Carta Bella and a perfect acrylic title from Bramble Fox.

Thank you so much for looking - I hope it gives you some inspiration on using the Around the World cut file. I will be back later in the month with a rainbow theme layout. Until next time....
