Floral and Butterfly Card Set | Rachel Lowe May 30, 2019 10:00

Hi friends, today I have a card set to share!

I have used two cut files to create these cards.

I have used Pinkfresh Studio Indigo Hills 2 collection. My cards are 5x5 inches. I firstly cut a circle and heart into the front of my card. I then cut a 5x5 inch white cardstock strip and added to the back of the front cover, using foam tape to give me some dept to work with which allowed me to fill in the circle and heart with my chosen cut files.

I used a floral paper to cut my flowers and when layering I added foam tape between the layers to add height which meant my flowers were coming up and over the circle. I used three sizes to create my flowers from visual interest. Some centres I added enamel dots and others I used NUVO Jewel drops (white). I finished my card off adding a word sentiment (which is a puffy sticker from the collection) and heart.

My next card I used the floral paper that I made the flowers from and cut a heart and adhered to the white cardstock strip previously cut. I then used an ombre paper so my butterfly would have light and shade for visual interest.

I cut two of the same size, three different sized butterflies and added a row of machine stitching to the centre which allowed me to bend up the wings for dimension.

I finished this card off with a die cut word sentiment from the collection added with foam tape for height. And there you have it some beautiful cards ready for gifting. I can see myself using this flower and butterfly again and again.

Thanks for stopping by today, hoping you have a wonderful creative week!

Hello JustNick creators!  Majken here with you today, and we are celebrating spring with flowers.  Today I'm using some new floral cut files in the JustNick store (along with a couple of others).  The new Build a Flower cut files help you easily create layered flowers - super easy with a 6x6 paper pad.  I'm using the Daffodil Days Card kit from Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine for this layout (which includes Echo Park Paper's Spring Fling 6x6 paper pad), and it sure is springy!

The first thing I cut out for this layout was several flowers in different patterns.  I arranged all three originally in the top right corner with the photos in the bottom left.  But I decided to cut a corner from a 12x12 sheet of the patterned paper and anchor the photos over it.  I still felt another layer was needed so I cut the Screen Background from the green cardstock from the kit.

Here's some close-ups of the flowers - Build a Flower 1 and Build a Flower 4.  Over the cut centers I put some enamel dots.

And then I finished the layout with a title - Hugs & Kisses.

Hugs & Kisses

I hope you are enjoying your spring so far.  Don't forget to share your floral layouts with us!

Thank you for joining me on the blog today!

HEY AMAZING YOU | Nathalie DeSousa April 22, 2019 07:00

Hi there!

Nathalie with you today bringing you a new project that fits this week's theme, Flowers.   There are so many new beautiful cut files available in the JustNick Studio shop, so, I picked a few of them to create this fresh flowery page.

I started this page by adding a bit of mixed media to the background using acrylic white paint and Distress inks.  While the background dried, i cut from white cardstock the Henna Heart cut file as well as a few stems using the Stems 2 cut file.

Once the background dried, the heart cut out was glued to the page. I pulled Pinkfresh Studio's Joyful Day collection to create the flowers using the Build a Flower 3, Build a Flower 4, Build a Flower 6, and Build a Flower 7 cut files.

I ruffled the edges of the flowers using a bone folder and then build them together.  I replace the flowers in the heart cut out with these flowers, and added the  stems behind them so that they create clusters around the page.

A few embellishments from the Joyful Day collection complete the clusters and title in the page.  A few lines of journal and gold ink droplets are the final touches added.

I hope this has inspired you to mix a few of the JustNick Studio designs in your next project.  Nicole has added lots of beautiful designs to the store lately, it is hard to just choose one.

Remember you can always contact me if you have questions on how this came together.
