JustNick Cut File Store

Hello friends! Today I have a TN spread to share using the Butterfly Background 4 cut file.
I am working in my vacation notebook and wanted to include some larger photos of gorgeous scenery that don't need journaling. This butterfly cut file is perfect to balance out the large photo.
After cutting out the file, I backed the butterflies with colorful patterned paper, and then adhered it to my background. I placed a few flowers around the cut file, but kept the embellishments to a minimum in an effort to keep the page somewhat flat. Splatters of white acrylic paint help to add dimension without adding bulk.
I decided to add a couple of phrase stickers as my title directly on top of my photo. This is a fun technique and works best if you have a bit of "white" space on your photo to allow your title to stand out.
Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today. I hope that this inspires you to create! Be sure and stop by the Just Nick store and check out the new cut files.
Without change there would be no butterflies | Monique Liedtke August 30, 2018 07:00
Hi everyone! Welcome to the JustNick blog! It's Monique here today sharing another page created with two of Nicole's one-of-a-kind cut files! I feel so blessed to be on her team, to be able to play with all the awesomeness from the store!
Here's the layout I created for today's post. The photo I used is of my girl looking out over the sea and was taken during our vacation in Spain last May. I love how peaceful this photo looks.
For this page I chose one of the butterfly cut files "Butterfly Background", which I totally adore:
And the "Valentine" cut file, from which I used the word "love":
I used the "Brie" collection from Felicity Jane for my layout and cut the butterfly background from the pink "Gradient Grid & Stripe" sheet. I just love the ombre effect on this paper.
Before adhering the butterflies to my background, I used a Nuvo blender brush and a pink ink pad to give the white cardstock a little bit of color and I also added a few drops of pink Tattered Angels mist.
Here are a few close-up images of my layout. Of course I had to use the chipboard circle with the saying "without change there would be no butterflies" which was perfect for my page (although I always thought the saying was the other way around "without butterflies there would be no change" ...? )
The word "love" was cut from a dotted piece of cardstock and then adhered to the photo using my tiny attacher:
I really love how this layout turned out. I hope you do too!
Thank you so much for stopping by and before you go, be sure to check out all the butterfly cut files in the shop!
Thank you so much for stopping by today! Have an amazing day!
Thankful for Mom | Morgan Langley May 6, 2018 07:00
Hey crafty friends! Today I am sharing a post for mom's week on the Just Nick blog using the "floral frames" cut file!
I love ALL the beautiful floral cut feels in the shop and all of them make great spring layouts! I started by cutting my frames and backing them with patterned papers from the "Turn the Page" collection. I love how much color this adds. I also watercolored my plain white background before adhering the frames with the packaging technique and some splatters! I tried to match the paint to colors in the collection!
Heart is Full | Morgan Langley February 15, 2018 07:00Hey crafty friends! I am excited to be sharing another LOVE post this week! I used the beautiful "Heart is Full Background" cut file to create this fun and simple layout of my sister, Violet, and I!
Sixteen | Maryám Pérez January 11, 2018 07:00
Hello Friends! Maryám here to share with you a new layout using awesome cut files from the JustNick Shop.
For this layout, I used two cut files. I started with Butterfly Background. I opened it in Photoshop and with the eraser tool, I deleted all the butterflies except for one. I chose one in black because I wanted to cut an easy shape. Once I had all my butterflies already cut I decided that I wanted to add a little bit of dimension to the page so I took two butterflies and I adhered them together so in that way I can fold the first one. After that, I added some hand stitching because why not?! Then I added all of the embellishments but I was feeling that it needed something else so I decided to cut a few flowers from the Lazy Daisies Set and then I added enamel dots in the center on each one.
And here is my layout:
I hope you liked this page. Let me know if you have any questions. Don’t forget to visit the shop because there are more amazing cut files waiting for you.
Until next time.
Learn To Fly - Cathy Martin July 13, 2017 07:00
Hello everyone, it's Cathy here and I'm back with another fun layout for Just Nick! For this layout I really loved the Butterfly Background 2 cut file and I had been wanting to do a layout that was very vintage chic inspired. This cut file would look very cute cut out with white cardstock and backed with patterned paper but it also looks great just cut out of cardstock or patterned paper. I chose to go with a pink paper with small polka dots and I loved it against the fun yellow background. It immediately made me think of this soft dreamy picture I had of my daughter.
Once I had my papers picked I knew exactly which embellishments I wanted to use to keep going with that vintage feel. Once it all came together I was so happy with it. This picture is one that I have scrapped before, but I wanted to take another try at it and I am so happy with how this one came out! This soft, sweet cut file can really add a beautiful layer to any layout, so don't forget to check it out in the shop!
Thank you all so much for stopping by and taking a look, and if you have a moment you can go and check out my process video to see how I put it all together!
Happy LO by Michelle Gallant July 10, 2017 07:00
Hey everyone, Michelle here today with my first DT LO for JustNick! I am so very happy to have been chosen to be a part of this team filled with such talented ladies! As I was looking through the store to figure out what file I wanted to use for my first project, I was actually thinking of doing a boy LO but as soon as I saw the Delicate Butterflies my whole planned changed! I knew I had to use it!
I'm not normally a butterfly and flowers type person but something about this cut file just called out to me. I knew I had that photo of my daughter holding the butterfly and it was just perfect for this file.
Here's a close up so you can see how delicate and pretty this file is!
Thanks for stopping by!

Hey Gorgeous | Marcia Dehn-Nix April 6, 2017 07:00
Hello JustNick Studio friends! Marcia here today. I have a sweet layout to share using one of the newest cut files in the store. When I saw the gorgeous new Butterfly Background 2 digital cut file I could not wait to use it. I love the delicate butterflies. This cut file is perfect for Spring photos, but I thought it would also be lovely with a photo of my adventurous daughter.
Here is a better look at those amazing butterflies...
To form my title, I combine the Hey speech bubble from the Girl Power digital cut file with a rubber charm with the word Gorgeous. This was cut pretty small. If you are having difficulties cutting items with your electronic machine try cutting it twice. I find I can get a better cut with a so so blade if I cut it twice.
Here are the cut files I used ...

Live Simply July 6, 2016 07:00
Hi everyone, it's Cathy here and I am so excited to be joining the Just Nick design team!!! Here is just a little bit about me! I live in Prince Edward Island Canada and I am a mom of 3. I have studied graphic design, illustration and animation. I love having a million projects on the go and feel the need to do something creative everyday! I am currently employed as a florist and I love getting to go to work everyday and just play! For me, I use scrapbooking as not only a way to document my families memories, but as a way to incorporate my love of all things art, and to help with my depression. As someone who has battled with mental illness all their life I have used my creativity as a way to stay positive and keep my spirits up! I am currently learning to embrace the life I have and the words in the cut file I used really inspired me!
I am also very eager to dive in and start being inspired by her wonderful cut files! My first project is a page all about me. For this layout I chose the Live Simply cut file. It echoed what I wanted to say so much that I didn't even bother to journal since the cut file really did the speaking for me!
I absolutely love this cut file and I really love the contrast of cutting it in black and keeping everything else very minimal and light. It really helped my title stand out and speak for itself and I love how well my picture nestled in the words.
Oh and I also made a process video for this layout, so be sure to visit my Youtube channel to see how I made this simple and personal layout!
Little Moments by Tarrah McLean June 15, 2016 06:57
I used the butterflies in the top right corner from this cut file, enlarging them to suit my layout..I thought the butterflies went perfectly with my soft baby theme....
I absolutely love the Elle's Studio Little Moments papers and embellishments that were included in the June Clique Kit! They matched perfectly with the cut files we were given to use with these beautiful kits.
I chose to use the beautiful butterfly cut files and I enlarged it to fit across my layout to sit above the 'Enjoy the Little Things' sentence.
Thank you so much for stopping by the Just Nick blog today!
