Card and Gift Tag | Rachel Lowe January 29, 2019 07:00

Hey Justnick friends! Today I have a birthday card and gift tag to share with you. I have used two new cut files to create these:

I love white on white and the texture it creates. I have cut a 12x12 cut of the pretty Petals Background and then cut down to fit my 5x5 inch card and tag.

I used black card stock to cut my chosen words from the This is Life cut file, which contrasts beautifully against the white. I used the Dream Big phrase for my card and used the word Dreamer for my tag which I cut down to create "Dream'.

I have added machine stitching and attached ephemera with foam tape to create height and so I could tuck elements under other elements. I love how these turned out. I have used Pebbles Inc Patio Party collection.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope these have inspired you to create your own textured backgrounds.

Shaker Cards #2 | Maryám Pérez April 9, 2018 07:00

Hello Friends! Maryám here with you today to share a new pair of shaker cards. This time I'm using the Up in the clouds and Up in the air set and my scrapbooking collection Sweet Life.

For the first card, I used some clouds of the set, I backed them with a clear acetate sheet and of course, I also added some sequins matching the colors of the collection. The sentiment of this cards is: "Make your dreams happen" and the embellishments are just a few butterflies.

For the second card, I used one of the hot air balloons and I did the same thing. The sentiment of my card is: "remember to smile" and I added some sticker flowers as embellishments.

That's it for today. I hope you liked these cards. Let me know if you have any questions and don't forget to check out the shop for more cut files.
Have a wonderful day!

A Trio of Birthday Cards | Marcia Dehn-Nix April 4, 2018 07:00

Hello JustNick Studio friends!

Marcia here today. This week our focus is on Birthdays. Did you know JustNick Studios is 3 years old! Since I am always in need of birthday cards, I made a trio of fun, festive birthday cards to share with you. For my first card I used the balloons from Birthday Sentiments and cut several balloons from pattern papers to layer on a card.

I used some foam circles to make some balloons float on my card and added some bows.

I love the look of white on white when using die-cuts. For my next card, I reiterated the word Happy from the Card Sentiments 1 digital cut file down the center of my card in a white cardstock and then added a bright bold colorful Birthday. So fun!

On my last card I went for delicate and pretty... but I still wanted to use bright colors. I cut the Delicate Butterflies out from white cardstock and then used my Distress Oxide inks to color them a rainbow of colors.

Here are the cut files I used today ...

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a great week.

Clean & Simple Cards | Jaclyn Rench March 6, 2018 07:00

Hi Just Nick friends!  Jaclyn here to share a couple of clean and simple cards I've made with some new Just Nick designs.

Whenever I get a new crop of cut designs, I like to size down the files and cut them out of white cardstock, as a 'test cut'.  This gives me a better feel for the intricacies of the design and the success I may or may not have, cutting it from different mediums.

These 'test cuts' typically get filed into a bin in my craft space and are often the first thing I reach for when making a new card.  I used the 'test cuts' from the Honeycomb Floral Background and the Patterned Hearts designs for the two cards I'm sharing today.

When I think of honeycombs I think of bees, so I though it would be fun to pair the Honeycomb Floral Background with some sweet, stamped and colored bumblebee images.

The cut design is mounted with foam adhesive atop of the 3.75" square white card base.

Using the foam adhesive creates lots of shadowing and dimension to this tone on tone background.  The bumblebees appear to 'fly' about the backdrop and are grounded by the card greeting near the bottom left. The florals inside each honeycomb really make this design special!

This next card features a sprinkling of Patterned Hearts.  I've backed each of the heart designs with a different pattern.  I attached the hearts to the card base, both directly and with foam adhesive, to allow them to appear that they are falling down from the top of the design.  Doing so creates movement throughout the card and ultimately directs your eye to the sentiment.

I've tucked sparkling clear sequins around and peeking out from some of the hearts to add a little extra sparkle and fun!
