JustNick Cut File Store

Homemade Sunshine by Sophie Delorme July 22, 2021 07:00

Hello Just Nick friends!

It’s Sophie on the blog today and I am sharing another cute summery layout !

I used the “Cool Treats” that was just released recently on the shop !

I cut it twice on white cardstock and really made it the main element on my page !

I used a thick white cardstock as my base and played with watercolors to create a mixed media background.

I used a Carta Bella Paper collection named “Summer” for this page. I backed each treat with all sorts of patterned papers from the collection.

I also used velum on top of pink cardstock for the popsicle next to my photo on the left.

I created an ice cream cone with craft cardstock that I embossed with an embossing plate. Looove this effect !

I mounted some of the treats on adhesive foam for more dimension.

I embellished my page with a few floral stickers and created a banner on the top right side of my photo.

Finally, I handwrote my journaling and added many beautiful Pinkfresh Studio Jewels for a bit of sparkle !

Here are more close-ups:

I love the result ! I hope you do too and that my page could inspire you ! A cut file is the best way to get started with a layout, as it dictates so easily the design !

Thanks for stopping by !

Until next time,

Sophie xx

HELLO SUMMER | Nathalie DeSousa July 10, 2021 07:00

Hello there, and Happy Weekend!

Nathalie here to bring you a bit more of inspiration using JustNick Studio's cut files.   Our focus this week is all in the glorious Summer Days, so I combined two of designs in this page...

Nothing says Summer like a nice sunny day!  I started by cutting just the sun section of the SOAK UP THE SUN cut file from white cardstock.   A bit of foam adhesive -when backing the cut outs with patterned paper - creates that lovely shadow/dimension in the page.   I added a bit of ink blending to the background to create the nice fluffy clouds.

I am using Carta Bella's Summer collection for this page.  So, I added a few papers and florals behind the photos.  Then used the new HELLO SUMMER cut file to create the title for the page.  I made sure to separate the cut file, so I could create an offset and the title words.

I added a few extra embellishments next to the title, then followed with a few drops of gold ink.

I hope this inspires you to check the newest designs available at the shop!  There is always new cut files that are sure to spark your next project in the JustNick Studio shop.

Special Bond | Sophie Delorme June 3, 2021 07:00

Hello JustNick friends!

It’s Sophie on the blog today with a new layout to share:

I used a beautiful cut file from the store named “Leafy Floral”:

As you can see it is a background cut file but I decided to use it in pieces.

I started my layout with a white cardstock as my base. I applied a little bit of aqua watercolor on it. Then, I teared three strips of patterned papers from the lovely Carta Bella Paper “Oh Happy Day” collection to create 3 horizontal lines, on which I did a zig zag stitch with white thread.

I used a 3x4” card for my journaling that I placed between the two black and white photos of me and my sweet Sabrina.

At the base of the photos, I created a big floral cluster. That’s where I used numerous leaves that I cut out of the beautiful cut file. I adhered only the base of them to create more dimension. I love that the watercolor background shows softly behind the leaves.

I added my title and scattered some Nuvo Drops around the page as the finishing touch.

Here are more close-ups.

How I like the result!

Don’t hesitate to cut into your cut files or modify them to fit with your design.

I hope this has give you new ideas to try!

Thank you for stopping by, I wish you a great crafty day!

Soul Full Of Sunshine Layout | Sophie Delorme August 12, 2020 07:00

Hello everyone !

It's Sophie with you today sharing a layout featuring a beautiful wreath cut file called "Spring Wreath 2"

I started my page with a light blue cardstock as my background, and added to it plenty of ink and white acrylic paint splatters that matched my color scheme.

I cut the cut file with my Silhouette on white cardstock. I backed the delicate flowers with patterned papers from the beautiful Carta Bella Paper "Oh Happy Day " collection.

I adhered the cut file only in a few spots so that some of the leaves and flowers are popping a little bit. I placed two photos of my sweet Sabrina in the center of the wreath and backed them with tissue paper, adhesive foam and patterned papers.

I fussy cut a few flowers out of patterned papers to create a big cluster of flowers on the right lower side of the wreath, and to a smaller extent on the left upper side as well.

My title is a Die cut from the same collection, as well as the label on which I wrote a little note.

This layout came together quickly and beautifully. I find that wreath cut files are always fun and easy to work with ! It dictates your design naturally and all that is left to do is embellishing it as you wish !

Here are a few more close-ups.

I hope you felt inspired by my page and that beautiful cut file today, thank you for passing by !

12 Days of Giveaways - Day 1 | Monique Liedtke December 1, 2019 07:00

Hello JustNick friends!! It's Monique here to kick off our "12 Days of Giveaways"!!
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas and we have started the celebrations early! For the next 12 days JustNick Studio will be giving away a free cut file every day! Today the free cut file is this Geo Reindeer!

Doesn't he look awesome?! Here's what I created with it:

I started my page by adding some light blue water color paint where I wanted to place the cut reindeer. On top I used a text stamp from Prima Marketing which I stamped several times without re inking so I had both darker and lighter stamped images. Next came a few drops of color mist. The Geo Reindeer was cut from a sheet of Pebbles Inc. wood grain paper and I covered it with silver embellishment mousse from Nuvo. You can't see it very well but the silver is very shiny.
On top of the cut reindeer I adhered some stickers so he doesn't look so huge. Of course his antlers needed a bit of Christmas decoration as well.
For my page I used Carta Bella's "Santa's Workshop" collection which is from last year, but as I loved it so much I saved it. This is silly of course so I decided now was the time to use it.
The text chipboards are a favorite of mine too and are from Tim Holtz:
The photos are of my super cute English Cocker Spaniel puppy who was wearing her reindeer suit (which she doesn't like at all!):
This is my page for today! Hope you like it!!

If you love this "Geo Reindeer" cut file too then be sure to hop over to the JustNick shop today to grab this free cut file!!

Globe Trotter | Vicki Parker August 13, 2019 07:00

Hi everyone, it's Vicki here today sharing my latest layout with a travel theme.

I had some of the Carta Bella Let's Travel collection and knew it would be perfect for my layout using the fabulous Around the World cut files. I only used two of the tags, the globe and the geo tag, but there is lots of choice here.

I started by enlarging the globe to the full size of a piece of white cardstock and once cut, I chain stitched around the entire shape with blue thread. Now, this did take quite a bit of time, but I really think it was worth it!

I stuck it on an angle onto a piece of PinkFresh Just a Little Lovely paper which has a stunning watercolour effect and really makes the globe pop! With the tags I cut also on PinkFresh paper, I backed the words with white cardstock and outlined them in black fineliner pen.

I also outlined the heart on the geo tag and used the cut out heart on the One Canoe Two Saturday Afternoon camera.

The rest of the layout was put together with chipboard elements from Carta Bella and a perfect acrylic title from Bramble Fox.

Thank you so much for looking - I hope it gives you some inspiration on using the Around the World cut file. I will be back later in the month with a rainbow theme layout. Until next time....
