12 Days of Giveaways Day 12 | Claudia van Rooijen December 12, 2019 07:00 1 Comment
Hello scrappy friends! Claudia here and it's Day 12 of our 12 Days of Givaways.
Today's freebie is the Christmas Tree cut file:
Use the code TREE4FREE during checkout to get this cut file for free.
The code is only valid on December 12th, 2019 until midnight CST.
For my layout I'm using a photo taken during Christmas last year of me, my mom and my grandmother. I created this layout with the Crate Paper Snow & Cocoa collection which is one of my favorite winter/Christmas collections as I adore the colors.
I spent quite a lot of time layering this cut file but I think the end result was well worth it. In some parts I layered some vellum on top of patterned paper which is not something I had done before but I really love the look of it.
If you back a lot of cut files I can definitely recommend having a gold glittered paper in your stash (or any other glitter paper if gold is not your thing) because it will look good on pretty much all cut files.
I had a lot of fun embellishing this layout and am happy with the way it turned out.
Thank you for joining me today, I hope you enjoyed seeing my layout!
How Sweet This Is | Claudia van Rooijen November 26, 2019 07:00
Hello everyone! Claudia here with another layout I created using the Pinkfresh Studio Just A Little Lovely collection.
For this layout I'm using the beautiful Remember Floral cut file.
I cut it from white cardstock and then mounted it with a watercolor background paper from the collection.
I knew I wanted it to mostly feature pink and yellow.
I placed a few of the phrase stickers that I felt applied to my photo (a selfie of me and Amy during one of our walks in August).
It's quite a simple layout but I really wanted the cut file to be the main focus of the layout so I felt that it didn't need a ton of embellishing and only added a few small things here and there.
Thank you for joining me today, I hope you enjoyed seeing this layout!
Thankful | Claudia van Rooijen November 15, 2019 07:00
Hello friends! Today I'm sharing a layout I created with the new 'Grateful Heart' cut file and the Pinkfresh Studio Just A Little Lovely collection. I'm thankful for so many people but for this one I decided to document this photo of me and Amy (our dog) because I'm so thankful for having her as my walking companion which has been great for both my physical and mental health this past year.
The first thing I did was decide which paper to mount behind the cut file and ended up going for this pretty watercolor paper (my favorite!) that was a perfect match for the color scheme I had in mind.
I knew I wanted to use lots of flower around and inside of the heart so I pulled a decent amount of acetate florals from the collection.
I placed some enamel dots all around to create pops of color - I love these!
I backed white paper behind some of the acetate florals so that they weren't see through anymore and others I just kept as is for a little bit of variety in texture.
In the end I came in with the puffy stickers to fill up some of the empty spaces within the heart.
I hope you enjoyed seeing this layout and that you will feel inspired to craft yourself!
Have a great day and thank you for stopping by!

Hello friends! Claudia here with you and today I'm sharing a layout I created with the Leaf Circle background cut file and the Maggie Holmes Gather collection from a few years ago.
My idea with this cut file was to back the leaves with a wooden paper (which the Gather collection had) and then back the inside of the circle with another background paper. It took me quite a while to figure out which one to put there but I ended up going with the paper that has all the strips for some pops of color.
I then put some foam tape behind the cut file before putting it on top of this typewriter paper.
The photo I'm using is larger than what I usually use so I mostly embellished with some tiny florals to make it look a little more interesting but not take too much away from the photo.
This wooden paperclip from the Pinkfresh Studio Indigo Hills collection was quite a good match for my layout and I liked the dimension it added. I always love adding some sort of paperclip to my layouts!
The layout took quite a while to make but I had a lot of fun and am quite happy with how it turned out!
I hope you enjoyed seeing this layout and that it will inspire you in some way. Thank you for joining me today!
Cherished Moments | Claudia van Rooijen October 7, 2019 07:00
Hello scrappy friends! It's Claudia here with you and today I'm sharing a layout I created with the Maggie Holmes Shine collection (Do you remember this one? It's one of my all time favorites!) and the new Geometric Frames cut file.
I figured this would be a great cut file to use with some 6"x6" papers so the first thing I did was separate the frames in Silhouette Studio and pick out the papers I wanted to use.
I wasn't really quite sure what I wanted to do with them after they were cut but after a while I decided they could probably use some patterned paper backed behind the frames so I pulled out some subtle patterns from the collection.
After that I started working on my layering and chose mostly subtle patterns in a variety of colors - I love the contrast of the navy against the wood color!
I absolutely love the design and colors of these chipboard letters so most of my layout is actually based off of them. I decided to layer it up quite thick as you can see with another chipboard heart, a tassel and a horse (which is from Maggie's Gather collection).
I punched out some circles using my 1" circle punch from EK Success. Then I cut them in half and used them to create a scalloped border on the bottom left frame.
Thank you so much for joining me, I hope you will feel inspired to start creating yourself!
Sunny Days | Claudia van Rooijen September 25, 2019 07:00
Hello friends! It's Claudia here with you and today I am sharing a layout I created with the Maggie Holmes Sunny Days collection and the 'Stained Glass Lace' cut file.
The first thing I did after cutting the file was decide which background paper to use with it, I ended up going with this pink striped paper from the Sunny Days collection which I chose because the pattern was not too busy.
I then started working on my layers behind my photo - I decided to make these a bit larger than my photo and kind of tilt them in different angles behind it to make them look just a little more interesting.
I knew I wanted to decorate the circles within the cut file with little elements so the clear sticker sheets from the collection were a good fit for that seeing as they are kind of scaled down and fit perfectly within the circles.
Lastly I added some gold splatters using Heidi Swapp's Color Shine to finish up my layout.
Thank you so much for joining me today, I hope you enjoyed seeing the layout and that you will feel inspired to start crafting yourself!
Happy Day | Claudia van Rooijen September 11, 2019 07:00
Hello friends! It's Claudia here and today I am sharing a layout I created using the 'Happy' cut file and the gorgeous 'Just A Little Lovely' collection from Pinkfresh Studio.
One of the things I love most about this type of cutfile is that it can be both a title and background element. They are also great to use up some of your scraps.
The first thing I did was back the letters with some papers that I took out of the 6x6 paper pad.
Then I put some of the floral die cuts behind the letters to make the whole thing come together.
I love the mixed embellishment pack in the collection so I made sure to use those on the layout as well - I truly adore those gold glittered enamel dots!
Lastly I added some strips of patterned paper at the top of the layout, these are from the 6x6 paper pad since I really liked the scaled down version. It was also a nice addition because they feature all the colors in the collection!
Thank you so much for joining me - I hope you enjoyed seeing this layout and that you will feel inspired to start crafting yourself! Have lovely day!
Bloom With Grace | Claudia van Rooijen August 25, 2019 07:00
Hello friends! Thank you so much for joining me. Today I am sharing a layout I created using the Crop Circle Background 2 cut file and the Maggie Holmes Flourish collection.
My plan originally was to mount the circles with some patterned paper but since the circles are so intricate I decided it would be best to just leave them as they are. I am also using two smaller sized photos for this layout which is nice because they are fairly small and they don't cover up the cut file too much.
I then proceeded to embellish the circles with stickers and chipboard pieces to make the layout look just a little bit more interesting.
I used this large die cut piece for my title which worked quite well and was a great way to finish up the layout.
I hope you enjoyed seeing this layout and that you will have a wonderful day!

Hello friends! Claudia here with you and today I'm sharing a layout I created using the lovely Blossom Background 2 cut file and the Shine Bright collection from Pretty Little Studio.
When I saw this cut file for the first time I thought it would look amazing cut with the marble paper from the collection. However due to a mistake on my part with the settings (the Pretty Little Studio papers are quite smooth in comparison to the papers I usually cut), not everything was cut the way it was supposed to be.
Because I didn't want to waste the paper I decided to just use the 'good' parts which is why it looks a little bit different. I really wanted to share it because I think it turned out well regardless of the mishap I experienced at the start.
I used some enamel dots from my stash in the middle of the florals for a pop of color and dimension.
I cut out some gold foiled butterflies from the 3"x4" journaling cards from the collection. For my title I used a mix of die cuts, (alpha) stickers and foam scripted words from my stash.
Make sure to check out the cut file if you haven't done so already;
Thank you so much for joining me today, I hope you enjoyed seeing this layout and that you will feel inspired to sit down and create yourself. Have a lovely day!
Dream Big / Claudia van Rooijen July 13, 2019 07:00
Hello everyone! Thanks for having me today. My name is Claudia van Rooijen and today I am sharing my first layout since joining the JustNick design team which I am incredibly excited about! I'm 26 years old and live in the Netherlands. I have always loved being creative and in my free time whenever I'm not scrapping or gaming I love designing (scrapbooking collections). I also enjoy traveling with my boyfriend (who lives in Denmark so I don't see him that often), going for runs or bike rides.
I first started scrapping in 2005 after my mom introduced me to it but fully got into it in 2013. Last year I finally took the step to purchase a Silhouette Cameo and I'm so glad that I did - I feel like it has made all the difference and I'm so happy that I can finally use all these pretty cut files on my projects!
For my first layout here I am using the gorgeous Behold Beauty cut file and the Take Me Away collection by Paige Evans / Pink Paislee from several years ago.
I cut out a few florals from one of the papers in the collection to tuck in between my layers.
I thought it would be a fun idea to 'decorate' the middle part of the florals so I added some chipboard stickers and wood buttons. I always love using a lot of different textures on my pages to create more interest and dimension.
Whenever I'm scrapping I always like to add layers behind my photo, 99% of the time one of the layers will be vellum/acetate because I just love the way it looks!
For my title I used these thickers from an old Dear Lizzy collection to add some more black to the page to tie in with my black and white photos.
Do you use newer collections when scrapping or are you trying to use up your stash?
I really hope you enjoyed this layout and that you feel inspired to start creating! Thank you for joing me and I wish you a lovely day.
