BEST FURRIENDS LAYOUT | Sophie Delorme June 26, 2020 07:00
Hello crafty friends !
It's Sophie here today and I am sharing a cute layout highlighting the special bond between my little Sabrina and our dog, and I found the PERFECT JustNick Cut file for that !
I used the Cut file named "Paws to my Heart Background" that you can find in the store right here.
I've got so many photos of our dog... that as soon as I saw this in the shop, I new I had to use it !
So I started with a white cardstock background, adding just a few watercolor splatters on it in a rainbow order. I cut the cut file on white cardstock twice, to get a second layer of hearts. I backed the cut file with the beautiful paper no 06 from the Paige Evans Bloom Street collection. Then, I painted my second layer of hearts with watercolor to mimic the rainbow scheme of the patterned paper, and adhered it a little offset from the white hearts underneath. I love the result ! It's like having new embellishments, made out of the cut file..!
I added adhesive foam behind the cut file and sticked it down to my page.
I backed my photo with some tissue paper and a pink layer of another Bloom Street patterned paper and arranged it on the upper left side of the layout.
I embellished my page with other goodies from that same collection, and used a Flutter Phrase Thicker for my title.
Isn't this cut file adorable ?? I am very happy with the end result ! I hope you like it too ! Check out the JustNick store to see more amazing cut files. Trust me, you will get inspired on the spot !
Here are a ton of close-ups. Feel free to comment or ask any questions !
I wish you all a great crafty day !

Friendship | Morgan Langley May 22, 2018 07:00
Hey guys! Today I am sharing a layout that is a little different for me! I love watercoloring, but I usually keep it simple with a few splatters here and there. For this one though I cut the different stems from "Stems 2,4, and 5" (three cut files) and water colored away! I did a rainbow of coloring and mixed shades and amounts of water to get the look I wanted. While the paint was still wet I did splatters of darker/lighter colors or just water drips to make the paint spread. I love the way it turned out and it was SO fun and care free!
I added super minimal embellishments with some corresponding sequins, flowers, little birds, ladybugs, snails, etc. Then I used mixed letter stickers to create my title!
Thank you so much for stopping by! Pick up these unique stem cut files yourself and see what you can create! It's always fun to try something new!
Thankful for Mom | Morgan Langley May 6, 2018 07:00
Hey crafty friends! Today I am sharing a post for mom's week on the Just Nick blog using the "floral frames" cut file!
I love ALL the beautiful floral cut feels in the shop and all of them make great spring layouts! I started by cutting my frames and backing them with patterned papers from the "Turn the Page" collection. I love how much color this adds. I also watercolored my plain white background before adhering the frames with the packaging technique and some splatters! I tried to match the paint to colors in the collection!

Small Joys - Cathy Martin November 20, 2017 07:00
Hi everyone! It's Cathy here and I'm up on the Just Nick blog today with a layout about being grateful for the small joys in life. Sometimes when everything is getting overwhelming it's nice to take a step back and think about all the small simple things that can be enjoyed. Whether it's the crisp smell of the cool air, laying down in a beautiful pile of leaves, or wrapping up in your favorite cozy sweater, these little things that sometimes seem so silly can be a huge help in keeping you grounded.
For my layout I chose the Leaf Circle Background cut file. I loved how it could be interpreted as a leaf, or a petal, or even a feather. I cut it out of teal cardstock just for a bit of a change-up from my usual white cardstock. I backed it with paper starting from the center ring and going outwards. so that it was the same paper on each ring all the way around. I used a mixture of old and new papers to back the cut file and then it was time to decide what to do for a background paper. Originally I wanted to use a patterned paper, but after trying to decide for over an hour I gave up. I ended up finding this dark wood grain and I really liked how it paired well with the dark colors in the photo. To add a little extra detail I painted tiny white dots in acrylic paint around the outer perimeter of the cut file.
For embellishing I primarily used products from the Turn The Page collection. It paired well with the colors I was using and many of the phrases were perfect for the mood I was trying to set. I also used some wood veneers to add an earthiness to the layout and I found some older burlap embellishments from the Craft Market collection from Crate Paper to top it off. I added some Heidi Swapp color shine in two different pinks to break up the large space between clusters.
Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look at my project today! I think it's important for us as memory keepers to not only document family and events, but to document our lives and our ups and downs as we go through life!
