JustNick Cut File Store

Hello, Just Nick friends!  It's Jaclyn joining you on the blog today as we round out the week inspired by everything circles!  I dug deep in my stash for a Just Nick background file with circles at the center of the design.  I loved the top row of joined circles within the Bubbles Background. and chose to isolate that portion of the file for my page design.

I cut several rows of the joined circle border from a wide striped patterned paper.  Grouping like colors of the border design and stacking them vertically on my page background creates a fun effect.  I adhered each piece with a bit of temporary adhesive, later securing them more permanently with machine stitching.  This also allowed me to fold each border along it's sewn seam to create lots of interest and dimension on my background.

I topped each diecut rows of circles with a variety of matching monochromatic embellishments, sprinkled throughout.
I found the perfect title for my page in the Dad digital cut design.  I gave it more presence by cutting four white cardstock versions of the same design, and mounting them beneath the patterned word.

There are a huge variety of circle inspired designs in the Just Nick store.  I hope you've been inspired you this week, to use one (or several!) of those designs to create your next page or project!

Dad and Sparky | Marcia Dehn-Nix June 23, 2017 07:00

Hello JustNick Studio friends!

Marcia here today. All this week, in honor of Father's Day, we are showcasing masculine layouts. I thought I would scrap a photo of my Dad and his dog Sparky. These two are never far apart. Sparky was a rescue dog that certainly found his furever home when he caught our eye on a local pet adoption day. Scrapping a photo of my Dad means I can make use of that awesome new DAD digital cut file too. Here is my layout ...

Besides the Dad cut file, I add some XOXO dog tags from the In The Doghouse cut file and made use of some triangles left over when cutting the Triangle Geo Background cut file. I love the added interest the triangles give to my background ... and they coordinate really well with the black geometric pattern paper.

Here are the cut files I used today ...

Thanks so much for stopping by. Enjoy your weekend!

Thanks Dad! - Cathy Martin June 20, 2017 05:00

Hey everyone, it's Cathy here and I'm back creating a masculine themed layout! Fathers Day was just a few days ago and I was really happy to get some fantastic photos of daddy with the kiddos!  I had been in a scrap slump, but after Sunday I had renewed energy to go and get some of those photos on a layout!

One of my favourite types of cutfile in the JustNick shop are the ones that are lots of shapes attached together.  They are perfect for backing with patterned paper!  I found one that I thought was fun and whimsical and would work well with my idea.  I'm a sucker for circular patterns so this one worked out great!  Usually I cut them using white card stock, but unfortunately I am completely out! (I know, how does that even happen right?) So I decided to use a light yellow patterned paper.  Needless to say after my Silhouette was done cutting I turned the cut file over, and ended up using the other side instead!  You can check out my Youtube video to see what I'm talking about and see how my idea evolved!

Have an awesome scrappy day everyone and don't forget to grab a cut file while you're here!
