12 Days of Giveaways - Day 10 | HOHOHO2 | Nathalie DeSousa December 10, 2021 07:00 1 Comment

Hello there!

Welcome to Day 10 of Just Nick Studio's 12 Days of Giveaways. We are so close to finishing12 days of free cut files, and today  is my turn to share the day's free cut file, "HOHOHO 2 "

I love the simple, but fun design on the letters! Perfect for  a new page in my December Daily album.

I am all about large titles as focal points, and during December, I tend to print large photos.  So, enlarging the cut file seemed like a great idea to balance the page.

I used an offset function to create an outline around the original cut file, then set the original lines of the cut file to be perforated, while set the cut files to the newly formed offset.

I then used three different metallic embroidery floss colors ( gold, silver and Shimmer white) to create the embroider lines throughout the letters.   I backed the cut out with vellum and set it on the patterned paper (CVS - Joyful Collection).    Just a few extra embellishments and I will add the journaling under the small photo of my Goddaughters.

Remember to check the HOHOHO 2 cut file at the shop today, and added it to your cart.  Cannot wait to see what you create with it!

This offer is only valid until midnight CST on December 8,2021 at midnight CST.

No purchase necessary. The correct cut file must be loaded to the cart in order for discount to auto-apply. No refunds will be given. The design will still be available in the JustNick Store for purchase after the discount code expires.

Have a great Holiday Season!

12 Days Of Giveaways Day 4 // Sarah Bargo December 4, 2019 07:00 1 Comment

Hey paper peeps! Is it really December eeeekkkk so excited! I love Christmastime so much! I'm especially excited today because it's day 4 of our 12 Days Of Giveaways here at Just Nick Studio, and I get to share with you this fun page I created using the gorgeous Holly 3 Cutfile! I just looovve holly, and this one is just adorable!

This page is going in my Remember December album for this year, I spent the day crafting last weekend so I just had to do a festive page about it!

I wanted the leaves to have an artsy green ombre effect, so I took my Tim Holtz Pine Needles Oxide Ink pad and applied some directly to my craft mat, then sprayed it with water. Then I dipped my Holly leaves in it, and I got this cool watercolor effect with all these other green hues coming thru! Turned out pretty neat!

If you haven't tried adding some paints to your cut files, you definitely should, it's so fun!

12 Days of Giveaways Day 3 | Kelly Barron December 3, 2019 07:30

Hello friends! It's Kelly and today I am sharing a December Documented page that I created using this fun Holiday Tree cut file.

This cut file is so fun and would look amazing as the focal point on a layout. I chose to use this as a filler page in my December Documented album and love the way that it turned out.

To start, I opened up the file in my Silhouette software, and created a rectangle in the size of my filler page (6.25 in x 8.25 in). I then opened up the file, and removed the Happy Holidays sentiment for sizing. Since I backed the cut file with a busier patterned paper and a transparency, I knew that the letters needed to be as large as possible for readability.

I am still enjoying creating my own transparencies using my laminator. Refer to this post for details on how I have created some transparencies to use for my projects. On this transparency I used tinsel glitter by Recollections. While it doesn't quite look like the tinsel that was once commonly placed on Christmas trees, it gave me the nostalgic feel of decorations in the past.

It's hard to see the glitter due to the glare of the transparency, but in person it is noticeable and a fun element behind the cut file.

Once I adhered the transparency to the cut file, I lightly adhered it to the patterned paper. Then, I machine stitched around the edge with white thread. For the finishing touches, I sprinkled clear sequins around the page and added a chipboard star to the top.

Be sure and grab the Holiday Tree cut file at the Just Nick  shop for free today only.

Snowman | Kelly Barron November 27, 2019 07:00

Hello friends! It's Kelly and today I am sharing a page that I made for my December documented album. I created my own transparency layer and then layered the snowman on top.

I started out with this adorable Snowman cut file.

I backed the hat with a paper that has a velvet-like texture, and added red stickles to the berries. To make his mouth, I used embroidery floss and created some french knots for added texture. Black enamel dots made the perfect eyes and buttons to finish him off.

I created the transparency using my laminator and some sequins. I cut the laminating sheet to size, sprinkled some sequins on the inside, and then ran it through the laminator. I also tried this with glitter and embossing powder with great results as well.

To cover up the stitching, I cut the outline of the snowman and adhered it to the back of the transparency. I did use red line tape because I wanted to make sure that it would not come off the transparency.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today, and I hope that this inspires you to use some of the festive Just Nick cut files in your December projects.

12 days of giveaways - DAY 5 - Johanna Valayer December 5, 2018 03:30 2 Comments

Hello everybody,
I'm here today for the 5th day of 12 days of giveaway ! Today the free cut file is the "joyful 2" background which is so cute !
I've decided to use this cut file to make a shaker card in my December daily 2018. I cut it to the size of my album and put it in a pocket I've made with my fuse tool.
Before closing my pocket, I've added some christmas vibes sequins. I love so much these gold stars sequins ! Then, I've added a little sticker.
For the other card of my layout, I wanted to document the yummy cookies I've made which we have eaten while watching a Christmas movie on Netflix with my boyfriend ( typical Christmas cliché, I know ahah!)
I've decided to put my photo in this lovely gold puffy bell. Then, I've made a little pocket to insert a tag with my journaling, and I've added a little stamp. I've finished by adding little gold color shine splatters and my day 3 of my December daily was done !

December Daily Red Cup | Jaclyn Rench December 15, 2017 07:00 1 Comment

Hi Just Nick friends, it's Jaclyn here to share with you another page from my 2017 December Daily album.  I hope you've followed along the last couple of weeks to download your FREE copies of the holiday cut designs that we've been featuring. No worries, if you missed out on one of your favorites, they are now in the store for purchase.

The Modern Tree  from Day 5, has been calling my name.  I love the simple graphic nature of this design and anything in a trio is just that much cuter!  I used this cut file in not just one, but two ways on my day 11 spread.

I first used the trio of trees as a printable to accent my 3x4 journaling card.  I colored my images within the silhouette software, and sized them down to fit just below my text.  Once printed, I added an extra layer of stamping and a tiny die cut heart embellishment.

On the second part of the spread I  used the cut file in the traditional sense, by sizing the polka dotted tree to fit atop my Starbucks bag. I backed it with a lighter colored cardstock and attached the two with foam adhesive for a fun dimensional look.  The tree was then accented with stamping, stickers and a pretty paper clip bow, to finish off it's festive appearance.

Here's a close look at both of those elements outside of the page.

I've had so much fun incorporating these designs into my December Daily album this year.  We'd love to see if you are doing the same.  If so, please tag us on Instagram under the hashtag #justnickstudio so we can check them out!

14 Days of Giveaways - Day 3 | Jaclyn Rench December 3, 2017 07:00 3 Comments

Welcome to Day 3 of our 14 Days of Holidays cut file giveaways!  Each weekday from December 1-14, 2017 we will be giving away a FREE cut file for that day only!

This time of year I spend a good portion of my crafty time working on documenting my holiday memories in a December Daily style album.  So, I was excited to incorporate today's free cut file, Falala, into my mini, in a fun and creative way!

I've been wanting to turn a cut design into an oversized page divider, in a mini album, for some time now.  I thought this cut file had a good amount of surface area to pull off this technique.  And I was right!  It successfully divides my two page spread, while still adding enough of a 'see-through' element to unify the right and left designs.

One cut of the file is simply not enough to make for a sturdy page divider.  I sized and cut the file three times, out of a heavy weight, white cardstock.

I used a liquid adhesive to adhere each layer of the design on top of the next.  Doing so, ensures that this interactive piece will withstand passing over the album ring binding, again and again.

To create precisely aligned holes, I simply placed my cut design over top of my page protector and used a coordinating hole punch.

The finished piece easily slips into the binding of my album, and turns just like any other page.  Because the design is so cute on it's own, I added nothing more than a sprinkling of clear sequins for a little extra sparkle and shine.

Remember that Today's design - FALALA - is yours for FREE today only!
