She Is Sunshine | Majken Pullin August 6, 2020 07:00
Hello everyone...Majken here with y'all today sharing a layout of my daughter back when she was almost 3 and she chose her own outfit and dressed herself. It really does feel like it was just yesterday. That's why I love scrapbooking - it can take you back to those precious moments you don't want to forget! For my layout, I chose the Delicate Butterflies cut file because her shirt has a butterfly on it. (You can see how I used Delicate Butterflies on a vintage layout of my grandmother a couple of years ago here.)
Here's the layout of my daughter:
I trimmed textured white cardstock to 11" x 11", distressed the edges, and spritzed a little bit of watercolor randomly over the page. While it dried, I cut the Delicate Butterflies cut file in white textured cardstock on my Cameo 4. While it was cutting, I sewed the 11" x 11" white cardstock on top of the blue/purple patterned paper from Pink Paislee's Bloom Street collection by Paige Evans. It matches my girl's outfit beautifully!
After I adhered the butterflies lightly, I sewed along the middle of the butteflies' bodies. I had to use the sweet ephemera, including the butterflies to create even more texture.
I love that the "Sunshine" puffy sticker matches her outfit colors! So I had to use that as my title, along with some tiny alpha stickers to create the "she is".
I lightly layered some yellow watercolor along the distressed edges of my 11" x 11" white cardstock which you can see at the bottom of this next photo. I love doing this because it add dimension to the texture created by distressing.
And it wouldn't have been complete without enamel dots and journaling strips!

I'm so glad you visited the blog today, and I hope you find a fun way to use this cut file (or any JustNick Studio cut files!) in one of your projects. When you do, share them with us on Instagram with #justnickstudio.
A Trio of Birthday Cards | Marcia Dehn-Nix April 4, 2018 07:00
Hello JustNick Studio friends!
Marcia here today. This week our focus is on Birthdays. Did you know JustNick Studios is 3 years old! Since I am always in need of birthday cards, I made a trio of fun, festive birthday cards to share with you. For my first card I used the balloons from Birthday Sentiments and cut several balloons from pattern papers to layer on a card.
I used some foam circles to make some balloons float on my card and added some bows.
I love the look of white on white when using die-cuts. For my next card, I reiterated the word Happy from the Card Sentiments 1 digital cut file down the center of my card in a white cardstock and then added a bright bold colorful Birthday. So fun!
On my last card I went for delicate and pretty... but I still wanted to use bright colors. I cut the Delicate Butterflies out from white cardstock and then used my Distress Oxide inks to color them a rainbow of colors.
Here are the cut files I used today ...
Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a great week.
These are the moments | Zsoka Marko February 21, 2018 07:00
Hi there crafty friends,
Zsoka back with you today to share a new layout I've created for Just Nick!
This time the Delicate Butterflies cut file spoke to me :).
As I'm waiting for the new Pinkfresh Studio collections to arrive, I decided to use up some of the old ones! My most favourite collection ever from PFS is Indigo Hills and I haven't scrapped with it in ages so I went with this collection.
I arranged the cut file in Silhouette Studio the way I wanted it on my layout - I removed the small butterfly at the bottom, then duplicated the cut file and flipped one of them horizontally to get mirror images. I also cut a bigger, single butterfly for the bottom. I used textured white card stock for the cut files.
I then backed the cut files with different patterned papers, going from light to dark from top to bottom. I layered some tissue paper and tags behind my photo and glued it all down. I glued down the cut files also. I started adding embellishments, as much as I could, I went with a tone-on-tone effect.
I also picked out some die cuts from the beautiful Escape the Ordinary collection, some butterflies and foliage, plus my title. I wrote my journaling, stamped my date and added some black ink splatters to finish off my page.
I hope I could inspire you in some small way!
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Love | Delicate Butterflies | Michelle Whorwood May 9, 2017 07:00
Hi Just Nick Fans!
Michelle here with a new layout to share with you all today. I have used two cut files on my layout, firstly the gorgeous Delicate Butterflies and also the Word 4 cut files which I used to create my title.
I new as soon as I saw this cut file I knew it would be perfect for these photos of my daughters entering the wearable arts competition at our caravan. Yes my girls outfits are made out of paper!! I really love the vintage vibe of this cut file which I cut out on a floral patterned paper from the Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams collection. As the name would suggest, this is a very delicate cut file - I would definitely recommend cutting it out with a sharp blade and not having a too sticky mat as it is very fine. I really liked how the butterflies flowed down the page and I was able to tuck my photos in and around the file this helps your eye wander down the page from the first photo to my second photo too.
Next, I wanted to add a second cut file to my layout - and the Word 4 file worked perfectly for a fun title, and adding it on the larger butterflies added an extra layer of dimension to my page too. I first cut out the outline in some teal coloured cardstock so that it matched the colours is in the embellishments and the cut file. Then I cut it out on white cardstock to fill in the file and make it pop off the page.
I really enjoyed cutting out these files and using patterned paper added some interest and variance in colour to the butterflies and of course made it super easy to embellish with more of the Maggie Holmes collection.
Thanks for stopping by the blog today! Do you cut files with mainly cardstock or do you use patterned paper as well?
Thank you for being a friend May 3, 2017 07:00
Hello, everyone! Donna here sharing my first layout for the month of May.
I created a simple scrapbook page about me and my dear friend. I printed this photo long time ago but just used it for my project today. It was taken at The Kingdom Tower in Riyadh when we went there together with our families.
I've been into subtle colors lately and that's what I did here with the flowers and the butterflies which I think matched perfectly.
I cut the Floral corner cut file into two instead of using it in just one corner
I used a mix of pink, yellow, orange and green watercolor to coordinate with the colors of the papers and embellishments I used. I love the sweet colors in the "Sorbet" kit by Clique Kits.
I used the Delicate butterflies cut file as a stencil. I carefully brushed watercolor to outline the shape of the butterflies. And once dry, I wrote a bit of journaling in the butterflies and added puffy hearts in some of them.
I layered some paper strips, messy thread, scattered colorful sequins and other embellishments.
Cut files used:
That's all from me today. I hope you liked my page.
Also, don't forget Just Nick is celebrating it's 2nd year anniversary with an awesome sale!
