What I've loved in 2019 - Johanna Valayer January 5, 2019 07:00

Hello everybody,
For the start of the year I have a mini album for you ! I've wanted to make a sort of retrospective of my year with the things/events I've loved the most this year.

I love making these sort of ring album at the moment. It's simple, easy and quick to do and so versatile. For this album I mainly used the Carousel collection but also some bits and pieces from other collections because one of my goal this year is to purge my products.
The first cut file I used is the "Grateful" cut file. I cut it in a card and I've backed it with a gold paper.
And yes, the first "thing" or rather the people I've loved this year is my boo 😌
Then I've made a homemade "flip pocket" with a chipboard. I used my glue gun to stick all the things and I put a golden chipboard star to hide the glue.
For the next card I used the "doilies" cut file. I love this cut file it's so cute. I put my photos in the center and I placed a crepe embellishment from Willow lane behind.

For the back of the doily I stitched around with a gold thread, and I added embellishments. For the next card I've made a shaker with a piece of tulle. I love making this since my boyfriend has offered my a stitching machine for Christmas (yay !)

Next, I've used the "Live love" cut file to embellish more my album. I love this sort of tags, it adds something very easily !
Then I used this "Jewelry tags" which I've filled with sequins.
Finally I used the "Enjoy the little things" cut file because it summarizes perfectly my year. A lot of little moments that made me happy throughout the year.
I hope that you've enjoyed, see you soon xx.

Totally Adorable- Page Maps Team Up June 6, 2017 07:00

The Just Nick team has teamed up with Page Maps this month!  We used some amazing Becky Fleck sketches for June and of course amazing cut files from the store this month.

Here is the sketch that I worked with:

And my take:

I used the Nana's Doily Background and hand cut out one of the "doilies" to place in the corner of my photo like depicted in the sketch.

I wanted there to be a lot of color on my page, and I typically cut files like this out of white cardstock, but isntead I used lots of patterned papers from the "Oh My Heart" collection by Paige Evans for Pink Paislee.

I did add some touches of white along the scalloped border:

I layered lots of die cuts and other patterns under and around the photo:

And then scattered some mists, stickers, and bling around the page:

I always enjoy working with sketches from Page Maps, so be sure to check them out!

Let's Celebrate and XOXO Cards November 18, 2016 07:00

Hi everyone,

Michelle here with two cards to share with you for card week!  I must admit I have only just really started making cards and don't make too many of them.  I am trying to make time to make more as they are so handy to have.

My first card I created was a birthday card.  I combined two cut files - I created my own doily from the Doilies cut file set as I love using doilies on my cards and layouts.  This file is great as it gives you four different options to choose from which makes it great value for money.    I then cut out the 'celebrate' from the Birthday Sentiments cut file set and added this to my card as well.

For my second card I have created a more generic card for a non-specific occasion which is great to have on hand for when you need a card.  I used the Stack Em Up Background file first cut on white cardstock with some patterned paper layered underneath it.   I also cut out a Dahlia Flower and when I added it to my card and layered on some embellishments it started to look a bit dream catcher like so I added some feather embellishments dangling at the bottom. I added the XOXO sentiment which really makes it a versatile card for lots of different occasions from birthdays to general thank you cards.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today - I hope you have enjoyed seeing all our cards this week.

remember. November 12, 2015 07:00

hello, Diana here.  I love the word Remember--it's powerful.  When helping people to remember something, I don't use the phrase "don't forget" I say "please remember".  We usually when receiving instructions here the last word someone says and apply it.

I loved using the Remember word from the Remember cut file.  I went to town on adding more embellishments with feather cuts from the Sweater Weather file; hearts from the Basic Hearts cut file; a doilies from the Doilies cut file, and finally a simple border under the picture with the Simple Scallop file.

The story behind this picture is it is the last one we took formally 6 years ago!  I know SO sad, this year we are going to do it again!  This opportunity was very fun with one of our favorite people as the photographer.

We would LOVE to see your creations using the JustNick Studio cut files.  Please feel free to tag us on Instagram with @justnickstudio or share them on our Facebook page HERE.
