JustNick Cut File Store

You+Me - Leslie Berner January 25, 2019 07:00

Hi everybody, thank you for stopping by today. I am back with another layout using one of the beautiful cut files from the JustNick cut file shop. I used one of the new releases, Doily 2.
I cut the shape out of textured white card stock, large enough to fill a 12x12 page.
I used the Jillibean Soup Collection, Garden Harvest and fussy cut the flowers out from one of the patterned papers. I also did very little mixed media on the background, using Heidi Swapp Color Shine, Butter, and splattered some yellow onto the background, making sure that I stick as much as possible to the edge of the page. I obviously wanted the cut file to be the main focus of the layout, so I layered the flowers and other embellishments behind it. To give the cut file some extra weight, I took out the two center stars and backed the center with some of the pattered paper from the collection. I love the pop of dark blue as my baby girl is wearing a similar color blue.
Here are some close ups...
Here is the final layout...

Remember Today | Majken Pullin January 18, 2019 07:00

Hello JustNick friends!  Majken here with you today, and I experimented with Distress Oxide inks and one of the new background cut files released last week to create a pretty and colorful layout background to celebrate friends.  Take a peek!

After creating a blended ink background and splattering with sprinkles of water, I let it dry completely, and then ran it through my Minc machine to help get it back to a flat paper so I could cut it.

I then cut out the new Pretty Paisley Floral Background from the inked background...it's just gorgeous!

Because of the detail on the background cut file, I kept the rest of the layout fairly simple.  I created the title using the Everyday Words Background cut file.  I cut three times to layer the letters together with glue so it would create a thicker title that would show nicely.

I also opted to back my photo with Doily 2, which is backed with blue patterned paper from Pink Paislee "Whimsical".  You can see it peeking out.

And here are a couple more closeups of the Pretty Paisley Floral Background, which I sprinkled with a few star sequins (from Little Things by Lucy's Cards) and added a few puffy stickers, also from Pink Paislee "Whimsical".

Thank you so much for joining me today on the JustNick blog - go grab the cutfiles I shared with you today (or combine your own!) and get crafty.  New designs are released weekly, so check back often.  :)

Enjoy your weekend!!

Home Decor Plank | Jaclyn Rench May 18, 2018 07:00

Hi Just Nick friends!  It's Jaclyn here today to share a super sweet and simple home décor project that makes a big statement!

Now that my daughter is six, she has requested that we update her bedroom a bit.  While I'd be just fine keeping the sweet nursery theme around for a bit longer, she is ready to ditch some of the baby décor.  So, we have compromised by sticking with the same color palette and slowly adding in some more sophisticated elements.

I love to repurpose my papercrafting supplies for this very purposes and that's just what I've done with today's project.  I combined a rustic, 6x6" wood plank with some cardstock, felt, buttons and a gorgeous Just Nick cut design to craft this sweet piece.

I used the Doily 2 cut file and some textured pink cardstock as the base of my design.  I love the beautiful, intricate details this cut file provides and am enamored with the statement it makes against the distressed wood backdrop.

I cut two of the doilies, layering them atop one another for added interest. The larger of the two designs, I sized to around 5.25" square while the smaller one is just shy of 3.75" square.  This sizing fits nicely on top of the 6x6" wood plank, leaving an even border along all four sides.

I separated and adhered each layer of cut cardstock with extra thick foam adhesive.  This adds lots of dimension and shadows to the finished piece.  The feminine doily design is finished off with a pretty felt flower and a coordinating, sewn button.

This pretty piece took no time at all to create, but really shines among her bedroom décor.

I hope this post has inspired you to 'look beyond the page' with your favorite Just Nick designs.  Happy Crafting!
