Hey there friends,
Zsoka back with you today sharing my newest layout for Just Nick!
This week we are showcasing words/sentiments cut files and I chose the Follow your dreams sentiment from the Dream Big cut file set.
Here's how my layout turned out:
I blew up the cut file and also stretched it because I wanted to have taller letters and cut it out from white card stock.
I picked one of the last Fancy Pants collections for this layout, Dream Big, which fits my title and my theme. The background paper is a very old Theresa Collins paper I believe. I love grid papers for backgrounds! They are subtle but still not just plain card stock.
As usual, I backed the letters with different patterned papers. This is actually one of the reasons I love cut files, one can showcase many colors and patterns without them being too busy or overpowering. I then added foam adhesive to all the letters and tucked my photo in at the bottom of the cut file.
About the photo I chose...We visited the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas in New Orleans, because my son is crazy about animals. He loves sea creatures especially. He always wanted to work with animals when he grows up, his latest dream is to be a marine biologist. I just wrote about how I'm sure this is going to change a million times and of course that is OK, he has plenty of time to decide! I adore how much he knows about every single animal! I honestly have no idea how he keeps all that information in his head. Kids' brains are fantastic! They just remember absolutely everything. Well other than how to clean up their rooms of course :D.
I typed up my journaling and cut it into strips, adding them in the spaces on both sides of the photo. I normally just write my journaling with a pen but I thought this would stand out more.
To embellish my layout I chose a few items from the same collection, die cuts, puffy and cork stickers and a clip. I added foam adhesive to some of them to create a bit of depth.
I wanted to add a bit more red to the layout (red, my least favorite color no less!) so I tore off a strip from one of the patterned papers and adhered it to the bottom.
To finish off my layout I added a few navy blue ink splatters.
I hope you like this layout and are inspired to document your children's dreams!
Thank you for stopping by today!
Till next time,

Hi everyone, Michelle here with a new layout using 'Words' as inspiration for all the Just Nick Designers this week. Here is my layout:
I had lots of fun creating my layout and have used three different cut files. I really loved the new 'Leaf Circle Background' file and cut this out on white cardstock to create the basis of my layout and included my photo of my girls into one of the negative spaces of the cut file. I also added in some patterned paper to a couple of the other circles for a bit of added interest.
I also really wanted to add word to my page in a form of a title going down one side of my page. So I used the 'Script Alpha 2' Cut file and welded together some of the letters to create 'be you' and cut this out on some white cardstock. I then added some Shimmerz Mist 'Pretty in Pink' to give it a soft pale pink colour and stitched through the words for some added texture! I then added the 'Dream Big' cut from the Dream Big Cut File set also just on some white cardstock. I love the freshness of the white on white look and adding pops of colour with patterned paper and embellishments to finish off my page!
The cut files I have used:
I hope you have enjoyed my layout today and that you have been inspired to try out some cut titles on your pages!

Hi cut file fans -
today it's Laureen back on the blog featuring a new layout using a gorgeous cut file from the store - Dream Big.
It was my task to finish up a project focusing on word art or phrases from the store - which belong to my favorites!!
I just got some new Altenew stamps and wanted to incorporate them into my new layout, they were the perfect little add-on to my minimal layout. I just am loving how this one came together and turned out!
I let my Silhouette draw the design for me and then pierced holes all around - and then same procedure as always - just stitch with white thread and your needle.
The design stitching was rather quick and easy and then it was time to embellish.
As I already said, I wanted to keep it to a minimum to really focus on my stitching and the word art, so I just stamped three flowers, stems and black and white accents and arranged them in a triangle - which finished off my page.
I hope you enjoyed this and like the layout -
I will be back on the blog later this month!
Happy crafting -
