Remember this moment | Laureen Wagener April 27, 2018 09:00

Hi crafty friends,

it's Laureen with you today and I am very excited to be sharing my project I made for this week focusing on backgrounds!
I decided to scraplift myself for this page and love the outcome.

I used the Grandma's wallpaper background cut file! I have been wanting to use it for forever but never got around to it, so I finally decided to cut it out of some white cardstock for my project today.

I began by cutting a circle out of my white cardstock and then also cut a circular shape out of the cut file. I simply adhered that to the patterned paper I decided to use.

Because I was too lazy using glue in all tiny spots of the cut file I used my sewing machine to add a decorative edge around the circle plus secure the cut file in place.
After that was done I attached my photo onto the design and began embellishing the page.

I used the new beautiful Noteworthy collection by Elle's Studio for this layout.
I created small clusters around the circle and my title, that I've build using elements from Elle's Studio.

To finish off my page I added black Nuvo drops and blue spray mist and called it done.
I am loving the outcome and it was so much fun scraplifting an old layout of mine!

Have a great day,

Lucky to have you | Laureen Wagener March 16, 2018 14:30

Hi cut file friends,

long time no see! I am so happy to be back creating using the gorgeous cut files Nicole designs and sharing some inspiration with you!

For todays layout I used the super cool Cloudy Day cut file as my main design element. Going back to the roots with this, because I simply cut it out of white cardstock and backed it with patterned paper.

I used the Elle's Studio Family Fun collection and chose rainbow colors out of the patterned papers to create a fun and bright page.

For my embellishing I went super easy - I love using the color on color technique for embellishing bright pages like these to still add embellishments but to also keep my focus on the bright colors and design.

I chose a picture of my sister and her boyfriend, as I thought it would quit nicely into the topic of this week! She will add some journaling on why she is lucky to have him as her boyfriend later on - she just didn't want this to be in the internet.

I hope you enjoyed todays post and found some inspiration in it!

Have a great crafty weekend,

Love These People layout by Rachel Lowe: November 18, 2017 07:00

Hello JustNick friends today I have a layout that is all about family!

I have used this gorgeous Heart Background cut file. Remember you can resize this cut file to suite your layout. I cut one in white card stock and then another in vellum.

I chose Elle Studio Family Fun collection!

I then chose several different coloured papers and backed some of the hearts. To keep some white space I have not over done the paper backed hearts.

I then attached to the centre of the page. I then added my vellum hearts background cut file and attached by sewing over the bigger hearts. The vellum adds another texture and softness.

I have added some puffy stickers, acrylic hearts and word stickers on random hearts to add more interest.

I have created a journal block feature at the bottom of my page (which I will journal on later)

I created a polaroid frame for my photo and added an over sized title to the side.

I have finished my layout off using a red and heart border strip and adding a woodie from my stash.

Here are some close up photos for you.

I love this photo of my kids and I, and wanted to create a fresh, bright and happy layout.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Thankful for you | Laureen Wagener October 01, 2017 11:51

Hi friends and happy Sunday!

It's Laureen here and I am excited to share a new layout with you!

I love quilts - that's a fact! I love the look of them and their designs and I also love to include them onto my layouts from time to time.

For todays layout I didn't have a specific theme to work with so I decided to incorporate the look of a quilt but without all the handcutting and fun.
Nicole has that awesome Quilted Background cut file in her shop which I haven't used until now!

I shrinked it a little in size to be able to use the design twice but underneath and the deleted a couple of rows, so that th design would only be on the right side of my layout.

The new Elle's Studio Family Fun collection is probably one of my favorite collection that came out this year - so I had to use it, because I absolutely adore the colors!!

I didn't want to handcut each of the squares out of the patterned paper so I simply copied one of those quilt fields and used the Outline feature to create a slight border around it and my patterned paper fit absolutely perfect and saved me a lot of time!

For more of a quilt look I used my sewing machine and stitched one border around the entire layout and then along the small lines within the cut file and love the extra little detail and texture that gives!

Thank you so much for looking!

xo, Laureen

Right Now | Maryám Pérez September 27, 2017 07:00

Hello, friends! Maryám here with you today to share a new layout using Just Nick Cut files. I was looking the shop and I realized that we had birds cut files there. So, what I've done was trace them on the Silhouette Studio Sofware and then send them through the machine using a sketch pen because I wanted to add stitching around the birds. After that, I cut the birds again, but in this time I cut on patterned paper.

Here is the result:

Here are some close-ups:

This is the cut file I've used today:

That's it for today! I hope you liked my layout. Don't forget to visit the shop to see more amazing cut files.

Have a wonderful day!

3 x Christmas Cards | Tarrah McLean November 19, 2016 07:00

Hi Just Nick fans!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you today! All this week, we have been showcasing cards on the Just Nick blog using the awesome Just Nick cut files.

I decided to create 3 Christmas cards for this week:

The first card I created, I used the Ho Ho Ho title from the Holiday Sentiments cut file set, cutting it from white cardstock and using foam tape to pop it up a little bit!

This cut file set is so versatile, as you get all of these cute titles for your holiday/Christmas projects in the one set!

The 2nd card I created, I used the 25 frame from Holiday Overlay 1 cut file set! I cut the 25 frame from white cardstock again and backed the frame with some red Christmas themed paper. I then used foam tape to raise the whole thing on top of the green Christmas themed paper.

Frames with images or words are great to use on cards, you can cut them from paper or cardstock for a fun look.

The 3rd card I created, I used the Holiday Tree Background. I cut this tree and the frame that its attached to with the green Christmas paper. I adhered it to a white cardstock background and added some Holiday themed embellishments to finish off my card.

The Holiday Tree background can be used for either a scrapbook layout or for cards too, you just need to resize the image accordingly!

Hope you enjoyed looking at my Christmas cards today! Thanks so much for stopping by the Just Nick blog!

Happy creating!

Little Moments by Tarrah McLean June 15, 2016 06:57

Hi everyone!

Tarrah here and today I am excited to share my scrapbook layout for the recent blog hop that was held between Just Nick Studio and Clique Kits!

I used the butterflies in the top right corner from this cut file, enlarging them to suit my layout..I thought the butterflies went perfectly with my soft baby theme....

I absolutely love the Elle's Studio Little Moments papers and embellishments that were included in the June Clique Kit! They matched perfectly with the cut files we were given to use with these beautiful kits.

I chose to use the beautiful butterfly cut files and I enlarged it to fit across my layout to sit above the 'Enjoy the Little Things' sentence.

Thank you so much for stopping by the Just Nick blog today!

I couldn't resist adding in lots of the Elle's Studio tags and diecuts in the kit, so I added some along the left edge of my page.

There were so many goodies in this kit and it was such a pleasure to work with it!

Hello! It's Donna here to share my first layout for June on Just Nick's blog.

For my page, I used the Flowers in Bloom background cut file.

Donna Espiritu, Just Nick Studio, Elle's Studio, Jillibean Soup, layout 01

Let me give you a little rundown on how I made my layout

First, I brushed water on the cut file background before brushing yellow gelato. To add a touch of pink, I used Vintage pink chalk edger diluted in a bit of water as well. After it has dried, I adhered it to the patterned paper as you see in the image.

Donna Espiritu, Just Nick Studio, Elle's Studio, Jillibean Soup, layout 01a

Then I bunched up some light pink thread underneath the photo. Added a bit of layering and clustering of ephemera in the right edge of the photo

I used one of the tags to line up straight the little sticker alphas

After adhering everything, I splattered some mists/inks to the layout. Then I wrote my journaling after the ink/mist splatters dried.

I used CK's June 2016 kit, "La Dolce Vita" on my layout

Seriously... June 01, 2016 07:00

Hello everyone. Hope all is well. I decided to play with the Lazy Daisies cut files again. I love the fact that these cut files can be layered together to add dimensions to any project. Not only did I layer my flowers, but I layered several different types of patterned paper and embellishments on this layout. I love how this turned out.

Patterned paper: Die cuts: Elle's Studio, Thickers: American Crafts, Flair: Clique Kits, Chipboard: Bella Blvd., Enamel Dots: Richard Garay, Simple Stories, Lazy Daisy Cut file: Just Nick Studio.

Here are a few close-ups of my project.

Thanks for stopping by today!
