Fun Stitched Ink Splats! | Morgan Langley August 24, 2017 07:00

Hey crafty friends! Back to school season is happening and for my layout this week I was inspired by these fun ink splats that just bring me back to elementary school art class! I used all paint chips for this layout which was a super fun challenge!
I cut all my ink splats on white card stock and then backed them with the paint chips. I tried to use bright fun colors! For added texture I went back and stitched with corresponding colors, even switching shades of thread on each ink splat.
I cut fun mixed semi circles with my left over paint chips and then put different colors together with different colored thread behind them to add to the page.
I cut my title on light pink card stock and added some sentiment stickers and gold chipboard glitter stars! This layout was different for me, but I love how it turned out! Thank you for reading and make sure to check out all our back to school posts and cut files!

Enjoy The Moment April 11, 2017 07:00

Hello Just Nick fans! It's Lee-Anne here today sharing another layout. For this project, it's all about words and/or sentiments. Yesterday was National
Sibling Day and I wanted to scrap a layout of my two older kiddos who have always been exceptionally close and still are today.

I chose the sentiment "Enjoy The Moment" for my page.  For good measure, I also used the File Folders cut file that I cut twice on patterned paper and placed one behind the photo and the other behind the felt flower.

The black title of my project, was cut on black card stock with my electronic cutting machine.  To give it more of a dimensional look, I cut it out five times, stacked them and glued them down with a liquid glue pen. I think black titles make multi-colored layouts pop and I love the contrast.

The circle technique was inspired by a class that my friend and Just Nick owner, Nicole Nowosad taught at Crop & Create Calgary last month. I love this technique!

Here are the cut files I used from the Just Nick store:

Enjoy the Moment for Fancy Pants Week! May 26, 2016 07:00 1 Comment

Hey everyone,

What a fun week so far, right? I absolutely love the Attwell collection we received from Fancy Pants for our team up. I thought the colors would work really with a kraft cardstock base and I also decided to use some relatively new cut files, that are in the shop.

Here is the page I created:

I absolutely love any cut file I can use as a background and incorporate lots of different colors and patterns. The radiate file was so fun to use! I chose to cut it with kraft and layer on top of kraft. It creates a really neat dimensional look. To add the pattern papers, I just held the negative of the cut file and cut around it. Super easy and it fits perfectly behind the cut file.

The fun was figuring out how I wanted to spread out the patterns and give some good balance.

How fun are those tags? By layering them under the photo, it helped to create my visual triangle with the color scheme. I'm all about visual triangles. Perhaps a bit obsessed.

Here are a couple more close ups...

I love how most of the pattern papers have a solid color on the other side. One of them worked perfect to create my title as the color went with the design.

I added some faux stitching around the cut file to help ground the overall design.

Thanks for swinging by today! I hope you are enjoying the focus and fun on the blog, this week, as we party with Fancy Pants Designs!

Hello everyone!

It's Donna here today to share another page I created using one of Just Nick Studio's awesome cut files.

Today's page is quite simple. I used the cut file Enjoy the moment as my page title.

I layered two of the same sized cut file to add a bit of interest to my title since I only used plain white cardstock. I still wanted it to stand out against the soft pastel colors on the background.

I used "Hot Mess" February kit by Clique Kits

Hope you liked my page today!

Thanks for dropping by!
