Fun Stitched Ink Splats! | Morgan Langley August 24, 2017 07:00

Hey crafty friends! Back to school season is happening and for my layout this week I was inspired by these fun ink splats that just bring me back to elementary school art class! I used all paint chips for this layout which was a super fun challenge!
I cut all my ink splats on white card stock and then backed them with the paint chips. I tried to use bright fun colors! For added texture I went back and stitched with corresponding colors, even switching shades of thread on each ink splat.
I cut fun mixed semi circles with my left over paint chips and then put different colors together with different colored thread behind them to add to the page.
I cut my title on light pink card stock and added some sentiment stickers and gold chipboard glitter stars! This layout was different for me, but I love how it turned out! Thank you for reading and make sure to check out all our back to school posts and cut files!

Enjoy The Moment July 09, 2017 07:00

Hello everyone!

I am Nathalie (aka Tachita, my nickname for as long as I can remember), and I am super excited to be part of the 2017-2018 Design Team for JustNick Studio.

I am grateful to GOD first and foremost for all his blessings, and to Nicole for inviting me to be part of this amazing group of designers.  My love for photography and memory keeping introduce me to scrapbooking, and I have been hooked on this craft for many years.  I especially love working with cut files, so getting to work and share my projects with Nicole's designs is just a delight.

For my first project, i chose to work a monochromatic design with lots of texture -aka stitching- and a few of the store cut files.

For this layout,  i chose the gorgeous Floral Burst Background to create the background for the layout.  So I used the cut file to create the large hand stitched flowers in the page.  To add more texture and dimension to the page, some string art was used to fill the inside of each petal on the flowers.

It did take some time to complete the designs, but i find hand stitching relaxing!

To create the title of this page, i chose the Enjoy The Moment cut file, and cut it twice from white cardstock.  The two cut-outs were glued together, and then attached to the bottom of the page using some foam dots (i love the little shadow under the  title!)

The picture of my daughter holding the littlest one (that is how we call the little cousins around here), was framed with some leaf cut outs created from vellum and white cardstock using the  Stem cut file.   A few pieces stickers, and ephemera pieces from the Rose Quartz collection -Prima Marketing- and Gather collection -Crate Paper- frame the picture.

What can i say?  I love this page!  It is full of texture, dimension and cut files, not to mention a black and white picture ;)

Don't forget to check the cut files used in this layout in the JustNick store, there are lots of designs available (all beautiful, of course!).  I am a comment away if you have questions on how this layout came together, and/or you can always find me on Instagram - @tachita55 - !!

See you all soon!
