Christmas Joy | 12 Days of Givaways !!! | Sophie Delorme December 11, 2021 07:00 1 Comment

Hello JustNick friends and welcome to day 11 of the JustNick 12 Days of Giveaways 2021!
Sophie here sharing my layout created with the free cut file of the day: Winter Floral Ring!

I cut it twice on white cardstock. I backed the berries and most of the leaves of the wreath with papers from the Felicity Jane Bella collection and machine stitched on the stems with white thread. I adhered the floral ring on a soft pink plain paper and cut the outside excess so that the pink paper would show only on the inside of the wreath.

I mounted everything on adhesive foam and placed it on the center of a 10 inches square thick white cardstock, which was stitched down on a 12x12 plaid black and white patterned paper.
I placed my black and white photo and a journaling card on the center of the wreath, added my title and a few beautiful embellishments around them.

I created a little cluster on the bottom right of the page with a paper strip, a label, a few hearts and a piece of the same Winter Floral Ring cut file mounted on adhesive foam.

I hand wrote my journaling and added a few black Nuvo Cristal drops as the finishing touch!
Here are more close-ups:

Hurry up and download that gorgeous cut file!

12 Days Of Giveaways | Christmas Tree Layout | Yarelys Rodriguez December 3, 2021 07:00 1 Comment
Hey there JustNick friends! Hope you are having a wonderful day! Yarelys here to share with you a new layout! Christmas is here and with it the 12 Days Of Giveaways! So to make this layout I used the giveaway cut file for today and the Warm Wishes collection from Vicki Boutin.
The giveaway cut file for today is the Holiday Bough.
I started my layout by cutting the cut file four times. I didn’t do mixed media because I wanted the cut file to show up and be the star of the layout.
Now it’s time to build my layout! I glued the cut files and my photo. Then, I fussy cut some flowers from one of the papers of the collection and glued them on top of the cut files.
To finish my layout I added the title, ephemera, stickers and gold splatters.
I love how this layout turned out! Hope you all like it and get inspired to create beautiful things! Be sure to stop by the JustNick store and check out the new cut files. Thanks for stopping by!
This offer is only valid until midnight CTS on Friday, December 3rd 2021 at midnight. No purchase necessary. The correct cut file must be loaded to the cart in order for discount to auto-apply. No refunds will be given. The design will still be available in the JustNick Store for purchase after the discount code expires.
Have a lovely day!

14 Days of Giveaways - Day 13 | Morgan Langley December 13, 2017 07:00 2 Comments
Welcome to Day 13 of our 14 Days of Holidays cut file giveaways! Each weekday from December 1-14, 2017 we will be giving away a FREE cut file for that day only!
This cut file was SO fun to use! I cut the tags different sizes using a mix of kraft, white, and patterned card stock. Then I backed the cut outs with another scrap of paper and was ready to add some stitching accents!
On some of the tags I used a ruler to mark straight, different sized lines with a pencil and then stitched them, some I stitched around the image, others I stitched snowflakes, and a couple I did some french knot stitches!
I put thread or bakers twine through the hole of each tag and put adhesive so they would stay in position on my layout!
For my background I just sewed on some scraps of Christmas paper with my sewing machine using a mix of white and red threads. I added my photo and some wood snowflakes and Christmas trees and then the layout was complete!
Thank you for stopping by and make sure to get this file (HOLIDAY TAGS 2) today FREE with the code TAGFREE at checkout! Come back tomorrow for the 14th Day of giveaways!
14 Days of Giveaways - Day 10 | Marcia Dehn-Nix December 10, 2017 07:00
Hello JustNick Studio friends! Marcia here today for Day 10 of our 14 day FREE digital cut file giveaway! It's like Christmas (or Hanukkah, or maybe just Happy Holidays for you) everyday!
Today's FREE cut file is the Ho Ho Ho Strip and I thought it would be perfect to cut from heat transfer (iron-on) vinyl and create a festive holiday shirt for myself.
If you have never cut vinyl, you should definitely try it. The results are fabulous!! Don't worry, I will walk you through it.
Vinyl is cut with the right side facing down on the mat. (The back side is facing up.) That means, if you are cutting words, you need to flip them to their mirror image. Right click on the image and select Flip Horozontal. Resize your image to fit the shirt you want to apply it to. I sized mine so that it was 9" wide for a size L ladies t-shirt.
In the cutting window, select Cut and for material, select Vinyl (or Heat Transfer Material, or Reflective Heat Transfer). I used DecoSPARKLE Heat Transfer Holographic Vinyl. It is much thicker than regular iron on vinyl, so I increased my blade depth to 5. You want to cut through the vinyl but not the clear layer that is protecting the top of the vinyl. This is called a Kiss Cut. Play around with a small piece before cutting a large image. It helps to use a new blade and double cut.
Now we need to weed the unwanted parts away, leaving only the image cut on the protective plastic. Place the image on your shirt, centering it, and heat up your iron to the cotton setting. Different vinyl might recommend using a different setting. Be careful about your shirt selection! You do not want to use a shirt that will melt when you apply heat. When the iron is hot enough, apply even pressure on top of your image, moving the iron to make sure you are applying heat to the entire image. Let it cool for a minute, then try to peel the clear top layer away. If it is not peeling easily, replace the clear top layer, and iron some more.
Wash inside out and hang to dry to extend the life of your garment. I hope you give it a try.
Remember that Today's design - Ho Ho Ho Strip - is yours for FREE today only!
Just enter code: HOSTFREE at checkout to get this design for free.
This code is only valid until midnight CST on December 10, 2017. No purchase necessary, today only! This design will be available in the JustNick store for purchase after the discount code expires.
Check back tomorrow for another FREE cut file!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
14 Days of Giveaways - Day 9 | Laureen Wagener December 9, 2017 07:00
Hi you guys,
it's Laureen with you today on Day 9 of the 14 Days of Giveaway happening here at Just Nick Studios! Each weekday from December 1-14, 2017 we will be giving away a FREE cut file for that day only!
I was super lucky to get to create a project with the beautiful Put up the Lights cut file!
You can get this one today only! Later down in the post there is information on how to get this one for free!
As one part of our seasonly (is that even a word?) we frame a layout that matches the current season and we didn't have one for our Christmas decor yet.
So what better way to share today's file than using it on a layout in the way I love the most - STITCHED!
I let my Cameo draw the design on a 12x12 sheet of white cardstock and then also cut out all the tiny lightbulbs out of patterned paper from Studio Calico and the Merry & Bright collection.
I then decided that having a full 12x12 background was a little too much and so I cut my strip of paper down to 6x12 inch and began piercing the holes for me to stitch.
Nothing too fancy going on with my stitching - it's just a regular backstitch in white.
After I had stitched the entire outline of the design I adhered the patterned paper in the center to create the lightbulbs.
I wanted to add even more texture and so I used tissue paper and ruffled it up and then adhered my piece of stitching onto foam squares.
Embellishing this page was hard - I didn't want to cover up the beautiful design but also didn't want it to be all naked.
So I just used two mini clusters directly next to my photo and then sprinkled my favorite embellishment all over the page - enamel dots. Don't they look like some sort of christmas candy in this layout?
And that's a wrap! I hope you enjoyed my layout and got some inspiration out of it for your project using the gorgoeus free file for today!
How do you get this file you may wonder? It's easy!
Stay tuned for the next free file tomorrow!
Have a great Saturday,
Laureen

14 Days of Giveaways - Day 7 - Cathy Martin December 7, 2017 07:05 2 Comments
Hi everyone I'm up on the blog today and I'm using this gorgeous Joyful cut file! Just for today you can get this cut file for free by using the code JOYFREE2 This really is a very lovely cut file, and even though it's part of Nicole's Christmas giveaway I decided to use it for a slightly different layout. I used it for a winter layout, with a picture that was taken at the end of January. Even the word Joy can be versatile, and if there is something that I cannot say enough about Nicole's cut files it is that they can be used in soooooo many ways!
For my layout I used a combination of products from the Snow and Cocoa collection as well as the Turn the Page collection. It might seem like a bit of a strange pairing but there were some overlapping color schemes that helped me bring in more colors than just pink and teal. I used the offset feature in Silhouette Studio to create an outline for the cut file. I then used patterned paper to cut out the outline and white paper for the middle. Propping it all up with foam gave just the right amount of dimension and interest! I am so happy with the simplicity and sense of wonder and joy that comes across through all the elements.
Thank you for joining me today and I hope you go and grab your free cut file, and don't forget to stop by each day for the next 7 days for more cut files and inspiration!
Friends Become Our Chosen Family May 6, 2017 11:00
Hello JustNick Studio friends. Happy National Scrapbook Day!
Marcia here today with some scrappy inspiration and a FREE cut file! I love using circle frames around my photos. Floral Ring 2 is a new digital cut file, so I thought I would use it to showcase a photo of my besties.
To add dimension to my layout, I layered some more flowers on top of the Floral Ring. These are from the Stems For Stephanie digital cut file.
I used one more cut file today. I just love this title, Friends Become Our Chosen Family. These wonderful women really are like family for me. They were neighbors but most have moved away, still we get together at least once a month.
Here the cut files I used today...
If you are interested in watching my process video, here it is ...Thanks so much for stopping by. You can grab the FLORAL RING 2 cut file for free using the code: RINGFREE at checkout until midnight on May 7, 2017 only!
More free cut files are coming later today, so be sure to stop back.
Dream Today - iNSD 2017 May 6, 2017 07:00
Hello hello hello!!! It's Cathy here and I'm so excited to be participating in the celebrations here on the JustNick Blog! We will have several different designers posting through the day and there will be a free cut file to go along with the posts! Make sure you scroll down to the bottom of the page to get your code :)
So for my layout I actually used 3 different cut files! I used the Dreamcatcher 1 cut file, the Feathers 2 cut file, and the Sweater Weather cut file. I decided to finally get in on the dreamcatcher fad, you know, considering that it's almost over! Well let me tell you, this turned out even better than I expected, and although I had to be patient when it came to cutting out the feathers and gluing everything down, the actual design came together super quick! Don't forget to pop over to my YouTube channel to see my process video!
I did a little mixed media behind my dreamcatcher before I glued it down, and I love the addition of the white feathers with my patterned paper feathers. It really brought a level of dreamy whimsy that I had wanted in my layout! If you haven't tried a dreamcatcher yet then I suggest you grab yourself the feather and dreamcatcher cut file and get to work, you won't be disappointed!
You can grab the Dreamcatcher 1 cut file for FREE using the code: DREAM2FREE at checkout now until May 7, 2017 only!
Meet our April Guest Designer + FREEBIE time! April 14, 2017 07:00
Meet our April Guest Designer - Annelie Maddock!
We asked Annelie to create a few projects with whichever of our cut files she was inspired to use and look what she sent us!
Here is what Annelie had to say about her project:
On this page I used the "Sprinkle Background". I made it a bit smaller, then used it as a mask with texture paste. It's something I do often, I just LOVE the dimension it gives on the page.
For my title I used the word "together" from the "You Make My Heart Smile" cutfile. Adore that font so much! I cut it out on white cardstock, then used mist to make it fit in with the many colours on this page!
Cut files used:
Annelie also sent us this fun summery page!
I am totally addicted to background files! For this LO I used the "Little Black Dots" background, but as you can see on MY page it became a rainbow background!
Then, because it's a summery LO I used the sun & clouds from the "Sunny Days" file. To make them stand out on my page I did some faux stitching.
Cut files used:
Great projects, right!? We would love to see what you can envision with the Little Black Dots cut file so we are giving it away this month for FREE!

All You Need Is a Free Love Cut File! February 18, 2017 08:00
Hey everyone, it's Cathy here and I'm showing you all my layout using the fantastic Free Love cut file that is available for free until February 19th! Just use the code FREELOVE when you're at the checkout! For my take I decided to get in on the bling and I backed my letters with sequins and some large glitter and an iron-on sequin edging. I always love finding ways to incorporate unusual items and textures into my layouts and this method gave me a fantastic focal piece! I didn't really need to do much else since I already had so much going on but I did like putting everything on the diagonal. Just to make it a little more interesting. I added some punched out hearts for dimension and used some chipboard from Crate Paper Heart Day. Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to get this cut file while you still can!
Happy Day | Free LOVE Cut File February 17, 2017 06:00
Hi there. I'm rounding off the Love themed week today with a couple of cards using this week's Free Love cut file...
I adored the fringe look of this pattern paper so I decided to layer three strips over each other. It's a bit hard to tell in the photo but it has some fun dimension.
Then, I layered 3 medium sized LOVE cuts over each of the three strips and added embellishments...voila!
Get the Free LOVE cut file before it's gone. You have until February 19th. Just enter the code FREELOVE at checkout.

12 Days of Giveaways - Day 5 Merry Christmas | Tarrah McLean December 5, 2016 07:00 5 Comments
Hi everyone!
It's Tarrah McLean back with you today!
Today is the 5th day of the 12 days of Giveaway here on the Just Nick blog - which is so exciting! Nicole has outdone herself with all the designs for this giveaway and you can keep your eyes on the lookout for some beautiful new and FREE cut files coming up in the next days! The design team have created wonderful projects to showcase each design and for inspiration.
I am sharing the layout that I created using the free cut file for today - the Tree Trio 2 cut file.
I kept my layout fairly simple for a change and I like how it turned out! I cut the three trees from 3 different patterned papers and placed them framing my photo slightly.
By adding some layering pieces like stickers and small embellishments I was able to add some extra interest to my page without completely covering up the tree cut files I created. A large chipboard title was begging to be used I I would have had it for like 8 years I think!!) so I finally got to use it!
Today’s design – Tree Trio 2 - is yours for FREE today only!
12 Days of Giveaways - Day 2 Merry & Bright | Laureen Wagener December 2, 2016 07:00 2 Comments
Hi friends -
and happy December 2nd! It's only 22 days until Christmas - at least in Germany, you have to wait one day longer to open presents.
Today is the second day of 12 days of Giveaway - which is so exciting! Nicole has outdone herself with all the designs for this and you can keep your eyes on the lookout for some beautiful new files coming up in the next days! The girls created wonderful layouts to showcase each design.
It's my turn on the blog with the BEAUTIFUL design for day 2 - which you can snap for free today only - read on for the code to use ;)
Can you believe that the layout is the first ever Christmas page I have done?! All the years before I didn't scrapbook and therefore I had this Christmas collection from American Crafts in my stash since 2013, when I attemped - and miserably failed - a December Daily.
For the layout I started by cutting out the festive wreath and then didn't know what to do. I decided to back it with vellum and then I was stuck.
I stared at my blank page for a minimum of 20 minutes, because I didn't like the photos I've chosen at first with the papers I've chosen at first and didn't have any embellishments to use with said paper and photos.
Then I had the idea to just use paper strips from the American Crafts collection behind my wreath and use a circle punch to punch out circles to cover up the edges of the paper strips peeking through. Said and done the wreath was adhered in no time.
For added texture I sewed the wreath about 3 times to my page and then started embellishing around two new pictures, that go perfectly with this collection - I am wearing a sweater combo in the same colors from the collection - so it was meant to be!
I adhered my Thickers in a circle to match up with my wreath, used some gold Heidi shine over the page and called it done.
After I had overcome the first "Ohmygoodnessthiswillneverworkandlookanykindofgood" minutes - I am really loving this page and how it turned out.
Now onto the fun part - go and grab the FESTIVE WREATH cut file for free in the store using the code -
WREATHFREE
This code is only valid until midnight CST on December 2, 2016.
No purchase necessary.
and you are good to go - there are endless possibilities to use this - imagine shaker pockets, or 4 wreaths for 4 pictures of each december weekend and many more!
Be sure to check the blog tomorrow for a new fun design to grab for free.
Happy crafting -
xx Laureen

October Guest Designer + Freebie time! October 14, 2016 07:00
Good morning everyone! I am super excited to have the talented Bea Valiant as our Guest Designer on the blog today!
I’m Bea Valint from Hungary, a little country in middle Europe… we have pretty hot summers, spicy foods, and a difficult history… I’m an economist and I've always been interested in numbers so right now I have FOUR kids, TWO hobbies, ONE husband and ZERO time... I always have been a creative person never stop with making home decorations, paper carfts and DIY projects. Regarding scrapbooking, everything started when my sister-in-law invited me to a workshop and I became totally ’infected’. My favorite subjects are my beautiful family that I have been blessed with. I love bright colors , little details and cheerful photos. As a paper crafter, I love to find ways to create unique embellishments using pre-made products. I love to start the day with coffee and work out, to travel and explore the world’ beauties, to have fun with friends, but you can find me often standing with crossed fingers next to the gokart racetrack pulling for my sons who are little gokart racers following them father’s passion. My craftroom is always open… I create things together with my kids, sometimes friends, but never with my husband... he just enjoys the results :)
We asked Bea to create a couple pages with any cut files she wanted from our store and check out this first lovely project using our Leaves and Sweater Weather cut files.
Autumn is my favourite season, love the beautiful golden shine and colorful leaves everywhere! I wanted to reflect this colorful world on my second layout using the 'Leaves' and the 'Sweather Weather' cut file. I cutted the leaves out of an aquarell paper and painted them with watercolor. I used white gesso on a grey cardstock, and placed the colorful leaves around my photos. I cutted some more leaves out of a Pink Paislee patterned paper and added them to my layout
Bea also sent us this gorgeous page using our Nana's Doily Background cut file:
When I first saw the Nana's doily background I already knew that I have to crate a layout with this gorgeous cut file! I enlarged the form and separate the circles with fussy cutting. I placed the round photo in the middle of the large doily circle and backed the cut file with Pink Paislee Fancy Free patterned papers around the photo I created a cluster on the right top using Pink Paislee Take Me Away embellishments.
Don't you just love what she did with those cut files! Amazing! Now, let's get to the freebie!
We are so inspired by what Bea did with our Nana's Doily Background, we thought you would be too and we are giving that one away for FREE now, until October 31, 2016!
Just use the code: NANAFREE at checkout - no other purchase necessary!
To keep up with all of Bea's crafting adventures, please follow her:

Thanks SO much to Bea for guesting for us this month! Enjoy your freebie everyone!
Meet our September GDT + another freebie! September 16, 2016 07:00 7 Comments
Please help me in welcoming another talented GDT to our blog today - Meghann Andrew!
I am a 30-something, wife to a Brit, momma to a former micro-preemie, maker and excessive coffee drinker. I currently reside near Houston, Texas, but have lived in several U.S. states and the U.K. I love to travel and cook when I’m not documenting memories.
As with all our guest designers, we asked Meghann to create a few pages for our blog using whichever cut files from the store she would like! Check out this amazing page she created of her sweet, sweet daughter using our C'est La Vie cut file.
As soon as I found the C’est La Vie cut file in the JustNik shop, I knew I had to use it to document a photo from our trip to Paris in 2014. C’est la vie can mean “that’s life,” in quite a sarcastic way, but I was taking it more literal here, to record a beautiful, ordinary moment in our lives, that just happened to be in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I found a photo from our trip that had my main subject on the right side, the space that I had to the right side of “c’est,” and printed it in 8” x 8”, as my cut file was sized at 8” round. Because of it’s beautiful script flourished font, I wanted the layout to have a feminine feel, so I adhered the large photo with cut file to a floral background paper by Heidi Swapp, then surrounded the circle with fussy-cut flowers from an older Dear Lizzy patterned paper.
To give the layout a diagonal design, I added in some extra embellishment on the diagonal line, and printed my journaling on a journaling tag. Lastly, I decided that the die-cut itself needed a bit of color, so I mixed up a very pale pink watercolor to top the saying, and carefully painted it over the top of my photo! I absolutely love the way it turned out, especially the soft feeling that it conveys.
She also sent in this super fun and colorful page using our Live Love cut file:
I must have had circles on the brain, because I was immediately drawn to the Live Love cut file in the shop, and knew instantly that I wanted to document this beautiful photo of my daughter, and record a really hard day in my life, and what it taught me. I cut the circle designs out in white and backed them with bright, striped patterned paper, really making the words stand out. I wanted to keep the circle design going throughout the layout, so I also cut my photo at 4” round, and added in more punched patterned paper circles.
To bring in more color, I added a strip of patterned paper along the left side, then to offset the weight of that, I added my typed journaling and extra embellishment to the right side of the page. The white background with bright pops of color fit so well with this photo, and with my scrapbooking style!
Don't you just love those projects!
We would like to offer the Live Love cut file for FREE until September 30, 2016 to you too! Just use the code: LIVEFREE at checkout and it is all yours

Meet our August Guest Designer + a freebie! August 12, 2016 07:00
We are super excited to have Tracy Banks aka MercyTiara as our guest on the blog today!
Hi there, I’m Tracy Banks, known on YouTube as Mercy Tiara. I’m a scrappy YouTuber who makes scrapbooking process videos when I’m not being a clinical psychologist, or taking care of my 2 school-aged daughters. I’m also on the design team at the Scraptastic Kit Club, and I’m Video Contributing Editor for Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine.
We asked Tracy to shop the store and choose some designs to use in her projects for today and here is her first project!
For this layout I used the Lower Case Outline Alpha to spell out my title: Oh Canada! I had to split up the letters, by selecting “release the compound path” and then selecting all the parts of each letter in my title, and hitting the “group” button to make them into individual letters. If that sounds complicated, trust me, if I can do it, anyone can do it! It’s no secret that I’m easily confused by my Silhouette! Once I had all my individual letters ready. I just dragged them onto my cutting space, copied and pasted the necessary a’s and sent it to cut.

Check out this pretty second page that Tracy made with our Doodle Flower Background:

It is my pleasure to have Raquel Bowman join us this month as our Guest Designer!
My name is Raquel and I am an Australian primary school teacher, Mummy to two kiddies (Jack 1 & Charlotte 3) and wife to Clint. I admit I am pretty obsessed with scrapbooking and love nothing more than playing with a variety of yummy papers and embellishments and making pretty stuff. I love spending time with my family, sharing coffee with friends, having creative time, a glass of wine at the end of a tough day and all things social media! I have been scrapping for around twelve years now and feel I have finally ‘found’ my style. I’m a lover of layers and clusters and enjoy adding little details while still maintaining white space, balance and a cleanliness to my layouts.
You can find me designing for online publication Jot Magazine, Hip Kit Club and manufacturers Cocoa Vanilla Studio and Pink Paislee.
We asked Raquel to create a page using any of our cut files she liked and this is what she created!

I added in a few other cut files available in the store - Holly Berries and Holiday Words.. here are a few sneaks of those

14 Days of Holidays - Day 6! December 8, 2015 07:00 4 Comments
Welcome to Day 6 of our 14 Days of Holidays cut file giveaways! Each weekday from December 1-18, 2015 we will be giving away a FREE cut file for that day only!
It's Jaclyn joining you on the blog today to show your how I've used the snowflake background design, to create not one but two festive holiday cards.
I sized the file to about 6.5" by 7.5". Doing so allowed me to cut a piece that was big enough to use for both of my card designs, with only one pass of the diecutting machine.
For this first card, I layered a portion of the background onto a piece of patterned paper that was trimmed to fit my card front. I trimmed off the excess portion of the diecut design and set it aside for my next card.
I used Versamark ink and glitter embossing powder to add a whole lot of sparkle to my diecut design. Not only does it allow the snowflakes to stand out against the patterned background, but it's just plain pretty! Adorning the centers of several of the snowflakes with gems and rhinestones is a fun finishing touch.
As noted, my next card design utilizes the leftovers from the first card - a great way to stretch your diecuts and save on time! I simply trimmed out two of the remaining snowflake designs, layered them onto one another, and stitched on a pretty coordinated button.
This dimensional, layered snowflake makes for a perfect centerpiece to the design.
Today’s design – Snowflake Background - is yours for FREE today only!

November GDT + freebie time! November 20, 2015 07:00 4 Comments
We would like to welcome our guest designer for November, Kristine Davidson.
Kristine Davidson lives on the East Coast of Canada with her husband of 14 years and their two tabby cats Archie and Willie. She works full time as a Customer Sales and Service agent for an airline company and loves to spend her spare time playing with paper. She also loves city skylines, sunsets, and a big bowl of ice cream while she watches reality television!
Kristine has been an avid scrapbooker since 2006 with a complete addiction to pop dots, diecuts and pattern paper. She is the founder of a scrapbook sketch site called Creative Scrappers, and currently a design team member for Bella Blvd, Jillibean Soup and Simple Stories. She is thrilled to be our guest designer this month and looking forward to providing you with some inspiration to create using our cut files.
We sent Kristine a few files that are hitting the store in December and here are some cards she made with them.
I really loved this cut file and wanted to create a layout with it but after i looked at it a bit more i thought a card would be perfect! I sized the background to measure 4"x4" and cut another tree to layer it. Adding a few embellishments such as stickers and enamel dots helped me create this cute card!

Meet our Guest Designer Sarah Moore + a freebie! October 16, 2015 07:00 1 Comment
It's that time of the month - where we ask a talented designer to join us on the blog using our cut files!
Help me welcome Sarah Moore this month to JustNick!
Meet Sarah:
Hi my name is Sarah Moore. I'm a crazy busy mama to 4 boys ages 9, 6, 5 and 2 and I've been married to my super supportive husband for 11 years! I am a (very part time hairdresser), but mostly a Stay At Home (Hockey) Mom and a Beachbody Coach! I pretty much run hair straight back all day, but I love it! I've been scrapbooking now for 11 years. I started just after I got married, so I could make a wedding album (shhhhh!! don't tell anyone that I still haven't finished that album!! HA!) I LOVE playing with my Cameo and finding different ways to stretch your cut files and use them in unique ways! I also love getting messy and inky with mixed media! I'm sad to say that my scrapbooking has taken a back seat to my busy life lately, but I was super happy to get a chance to be a Guest Designer for Just Nick and stretch my creative muscles!
We let Sarah grab some cut files from the store to create a project and this is what she created!
Sarah says this about her project:

Guest Designer Audrey Yeager + a freebie! July 17, 2015 07:00 18 Comments
We welcome Audrey Yeager to the blog today as our Guest Designer for July!
We knew we had to ask Audrey to GDT for us when we saw her great projects at My Scraps and More!
Meet Audrey:
I am a thirty something stay-at-home mom to my kindergartener and pre-schooler. I started scrapbooking around 2005, although I have been “crafty” my entire life, dabbling in different crafts here and there. In 2007 I discovered the online world of scrapbooking, which totally changed the way I scrapbook. Since then, I’ve been on several teams for kit clubs, manufacturers, and challenge blogs. In January of 2014, I took over ownership of an online retail scrapbook store called My Scraps & More. I have an entire store in my basement, and it allows me the best of both worlds to work part time from home in the store and spend time with my kids, too! (Not to mention I get to scrap with ALL THE THINGS!)
I love to scrap about our everyday moments and try to record all those little things that are said and done. I’m also so glad that we live in a place like upstate NY where we experience every season because I love being able to change up my products and inspiration from one season to the next!
I love how scrapbooking can remove me from anything else I may have on my mind, and just take me to a place where all I think about are colors, patterns, and the memories behind this photo. I also love the social part of it, too, in going to crops and retreats, and the online support and camaraderie!
In addition to scrapbooking, I love to quilt and sew, garden, play volleyball, and watch movies and sci-fi TV series!
We asked Audrey to create a few projects using our cut files and look at what she sent us!
I used the Brushstrokes cut file from the store and cut different "strokes" from different colored papers. I layered the stoke cuts in a vertical line behind my photo. I cut the Simple Scalloped Strips file from white cardstock and added small bits to the top and bottom of my photo as a little border.
We also asked Audrey what type of file she would like to use and she asked for a lake inspired cut file! This is what we sent her:
Check out what Audrey did with this file:
I used the waves from the freebie file and cut them in different sizes. I cut them from apiece of paper that had an ombre pattern to it so that the bigger waves were on darker paper, and the smaller waves were on lighter paper. For the title, I cut the words "fishing" and "lake" from white paper and inked it with navy ink to add a bit more contrast.
Thanks for sharing your great projects with us Audrey!
