Give Thanks - Valeska Guimaraes November 5, 2021 07:00

Hello JustNick friends!

Valeska here with you!

So happy to be here on the blog again sharing a new layout.

This time I really wanted to cut my cut file as big as possible, highlighting the words, being the main focal point on my 12x12 page.

I chose the special and beautiful Give Thanks cut file.

I cut it in a white cardstock and used the outside of the cut and discarded the inside. We usually do the opposite.

Then I chose a green paper to backed it from the beautiful collection Peaceful Heart from Jen Hadfield.

I used  3D foam stickers to to add depth to the green paper, making it lower than the white cardstock.

After placing the green paper below the white one, I cut only the inside of the word Thanks in golden paper, to make it even more highlighted.

I splashed in golden watercolor and added butterfly die cuts from the same collection.

To finish, I placed my photo on the top left of my layout and placed flowers and branches from the collection.

I really wanted to enhance my cut file and decided not to add anything else, making the page as simple as possible.

I hope you enjoyed and were inspired to create simple and special projects for you, using cut files that make your projects even more beautiful, like the ones from JustNick.

Thank you for stopping by.

Golden Half Rainbow | Valeska Guimaraes June 12, 2021 07:00

Hello JustNick Friends!

I'm so excited to share with you my first blog post for JustNick Studio. I love to work with cut files, specially in layouts designs but for my first time here I decided to use a new and beautiful cut file to show you how we can use it in a mini album.

I chose the Half Rainbow cut file. Its shape was perfect to fit on my mini album cover and I decided to make a shaker with it.

First of all, I cut it from golden cardstock one time and cut it from white cardstock six times, then I glued one cardstock on top of the other to gain hight for the little sequins to move inside the shaker. Between the golden cardstock and the block of white cardstock, I glued an acetate sheet with the same shape of the half rainbow. After added the sequins, I closed the shaker with a back of vellum paper.

The shaker was glued onto a rainbow patterned paper from Jen Hadfield's Reaching Out collection.

I think my half rainbow gave a special touch to my cover. What do you think?

You can make the same with any cut file you want, check all the designs for a lot of possibilities at the store. I promise to show you other designs soon.

Hope you enjoy it and have a great weekend.

Thank you for stoping by.
