HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!!!

Nathalie with you today, bringing you the first project of 2018  (can you believe it is a New Year already!).

I have had this picture in my scrapbook file for a while waiting for the right cut file, and when i saw the new Magic Carpet Background, the idea popped into my head.

To create this background, I isolated only the full images of the cut file, and then copy them in a tile formation.   Using the Silhouette software,  the image was moved until it matched the angle of the picture, and then set to cut from white cardstock.

Each image was then backed by a different paper from the Paige Evans' "Turn The Page" collection (one of  my fave collections from 2017!).  Using a bone folder, the centers of the motifs were slightly creased as to create the dimension in the background.

Just a few embellishments were needed to complement and frame the picture.   I wanted the picture to balance the background, so I chose to keep it Black and White so that it stands out from the colorful background.

The title of this page was created using the  "Girl Power"  and  "Lower Case Alpha" cut files from papers from the collection.   Each letter and word was cut twice, and glued together, a bit of foam adhesive adds the dimension to the word "sweet".

I hope this serves as inspiration for the start of a new year!  Stop by the Just Nick Studio store to check these and all the cut file designs available.

Remember i am a comment away if you have questions on how this came together.

See you all soon!

Making memories with you | Laureen Wagener May 04, 2017 07:00

Hi friends -

today I have a fun layout to share using one of my favorite scrapbook collections and a super fun cut file!

One of my favorite collections still is the Fancy Free collection from Paige Evans and Pink Paislee that came out last year!
Now ever since then Paige's collections include at least one paper that consists of a bunch of squares and different patterns.
For my layout today I decided to use that paper and create a huge title with it!

Paige always creates super cute layouts using one of the papers and forming a title - by cutting a letter out of each square. Missy Whidden also shared a lovely page recently, so I had to create a layout like that.

I wanted to use a cut file I have never used from Just Nick, so I cut my title using the Handcut letters 2 cut file. Such a fun and beautiful font!
Searching pinterest for quotes is always a great idea - that's how I found my title quote

Making memories with you is my favorite thing to do

Now, not all the words would fit onto my page, so I used some white foam letter thickers for a few words.
Because the page was filled with my title I only used a few wood veneers and layered one behind each of my three photos.

Now go and grab your favorite Alphabet cut file from Just Nick and create a bold, vibrant title!

Happy crafting,

Laureen

Too Cute to Spook October 21, 2015 07:00

Using lots of cut files on a layout doesn't have to be scary or complicated and we hope you are seeing that this week!  And today I am going to share a not so scary Halloween layout that uses four different files from the Just Nick Store.

I started off using one of my favorite files the Brick Circle Background.  In this case I used it as a way to pull in some extra color and texture to my background.  That extra orange really helps my pictures pop off the page!

The Handcut Letters 2 are so unique and kind of fit with my "tiger" title because of the stripe!  The bats come from the brand new Spooky Stuff file.  I folded their wings up to give them some added dimension.

The Doodle Frames were perfect for mounting over my pictures and adding another pop of color. He certainly is Too Cute to Spook and I think he will be just that again this year!  Have fun experimenting with multiple cut files - you never know how great they can look until you give it a try!
